can't work Custom Port with Server listing system

can't work Custom Ports with Server listing system?
it seem to only work with default ports(TCP24888, UDP24889).
if i set another port using "870=" line in text8.dat, listings not work for me.
also i set another port using only "880=" line in text that, listing itself is works. however can't connecting server. game try connecting to wrong(default, TCP24888 UDP24889) port.

Correct, if you want to use the public listing system, you must use the standard ports. You can use whatever you want for private sessions though.

thank you. it will not be change in future version?
i need to be using custom port for seculity issues.
and in addition, private sessions won't work with server password.
i want to publish server to my local community, however community is huge and annonymous.
so i need to set server password.
and if it will be work, using custom Port with Server listing system. (i don't want tell the ip[it sometimes change] and custom port each time)

ps) you can hide ip in server browser ?

No plans to change it as the listening and checking system requires it. You can use a DNS as an IP address for a public listing if you want to display things that way, but a client connecting out can still resolve where they are connecting to. If you want that level of obscurity and beyond, you'll probably want to set up a private server by invitation only.

invitation only is not suitable of my use...

at least i strong demand to can server password with private server...

DNS should work for private server, haven't tested that approach though in years, so I can't say for sure.

ok, i have talk my server machine admin. i'm now temporary using default port for evochron legacy.
however appear new problem.

server that using DNS can't listing on client server browser.
now i'm running server with default ports. that say public mode.
but they aren't show on client server browser.
connecting to private server using DNS is work normally.

vice, please check it.

ps. what is "admin command error"?
it will show server log when connect player.

It could be there needs to be manual listing done as the server-side part of the system may not work with a name listing. If that's what is requires as I suspect it is, I can help out with getting your listing going.

Haven't received it yet, but I'll watch for it. I did find a DSN listing attempt, but it was out of range for what the server listing system allows. So one step you can try is a much shorter listing name.

however server name limit is how many character ?
it seem to quite small... around 16?

and next problem. i click my server, it show enter password screen only quite short time...
this problem won't happen on my real machine. i guess it is firewall/router problem.
isn't it?

and i found bug, if server is this state.
if i click server many time, i can login server without password....

Best to keep the name down to 14 characters or less, although a few more may be allowed, depending on overall length of data and character types.

Not sure on the password issues. You will generally log in, but the server will check the password once you've finished the startup procedure. If that isn't happening, then it may be something I need to look into further. I still don't have your e-mail that you sent, so we'll need to sort that out also to continue further. Please try the e-mail route again and we'll go over some specifics with your server for testing and getting things set up.

i found something cause this happen.

if you using DNS, enter password screen won't work correctly.
i tested not using DNS on same machine and same setting. it will work normally.
