Cant collect item from inside cave

Hi,
Newbie ere, to evo and space sims in general, but been picking up alot of gd tips etc from ere so thought id come & join ya

So, EL - Legacy, ive found a big cave (1st time found it didnt know about low-light mode.lol) theres a container in there but i cant seem to collect it with my tractor beam or collect from it like i could from a container i found in a nebula?
Do i need a different beam thingy or is it an item inworld for a contract or something, although i wouldve thought game generated items needed for contract when its accepted.
Im still just honing my skills in single player atm, that combat tutorial scared me away from multiplayer:P

You should be able to approach a container and use your tractor beam to collect the goodies just like any abandoned container anywhere in the Evoverse

There are other things to find in caves that may not be 'collectible' but have you tried bumping into the object with your beam on?

Don't be scared away from MP - the Evochron community is very friendly and helpful and you can 'get involved' if you wish or just potter around and get on with your exploration. The advantage of MP is that you can get quick help from other players.

Ive tried everything with it, ramming it, approaching from all sides, shooting it, begging it, swearing at it lol. Im gona try again in minute.

With regards to MP and servers etc, im in UK is there better server for europe or dont it matter? If i start MP is it starting from scratch or will i keep my modified craft and credits etc

On a few occasions, I've seen players try to recover items from containers with their beam weapon, thinking that is the tractor beam. Make sure to employ the tractor beam itself. Another cause might be not letting the beam reach full strength while pointing at the container. Be sure to hold B long enough to allow the beam to reach full strength, or press Alt-B to lock it at full strength, then attempt to recover items from the container.

As for the carry-over between MP and SP, anything in your ship carries over. So does your rank and reputation (as it concerns kills). And your location (where MP can come in handy if, by chance, you've wandered off the beaten track in SP and run out of gas ... jump into MP and ask for help).

Another possibility that came to mind is that you discovered something other than a cargo container. You may have found a hidden data drive or debris/shipwreck in/near the cave. If so, those may not contain recoverable cargo (although shipwrecks can), but instead may provide information, historical records, or are just debris fields.

Aah ok, so i couldve received info instead which is hopefully recorded in news/info data section? Altho when u receive anything it shows up in chat section? And i dont remember anything popping up. I was supposed to go check but got distracted, ill go look now ><

And yer ive already ran out of fuel following up a NCP lead, just went back to last save point (lesson learnt) so, is fuel transferable then? I'll have read up on MP, save my silly Q's. I do intend on joining MP, need to know more first

From newbie point of view, its hard to judge distance, i was given coord's to 'special place' but couldnt work out how far it was from where i was, how much fuel id need etc, unless im missing something.
Also, itd be good to be able to toggle an overlay of button config ingame or at least a quicker way to reference. Theres a lot of buttons for my Lil brain

In general (in EM anyway) you retain all your stats in SP and MP (regardless of which server you use).
The exception is any that have MP in the name which are Multiplayer only with a new profile that has never been use in SP mode. (Most people don't like having to start over with a new profile once they've established some rank so don't use those much.)

You can transfer fuel from one pilot to another ... it's one of the options under the default F4 key. You must have each other targeted and be inside 1000 m for it to work. As Vice mentioned elsewhere, flying in formation will keep you and the other ship within range of one another.

For all that other "explorer" information, you can download the Navigator's Assistant (previously known as the Travel Buddy) from SeeJay's website. It comes with a ReadMe.

This may sound really obvious, but sometimes it can happen... did you have an empty cargo bay available when you tried to tractor beam the container?

As for MP 99% of players online are very friendly and civilized. Not like many other online games! You can get a lot of help playing online, and space is big enough to go off and quietly mind your own business if you prefer.

Yer empty bays, ive tried again and checkd ive not missed some info it may have generated. Dont suppose theres decoy stuff out there? Its tucked away down one of the tunnells in cave, so its not debris. Ive attach foto previous post, looks like cartridge.
I see theres more beam/ mine types, does it possibly need to be tractor beamed by a diff type maybe?

The standard tractor beam is all you need for getting stuff out of a cargo pod.

This is my first post on this forum so firstly hello

Secondly I have also found this item in probably the same cave
And had exactly the same issue it looks like a device of some kind and does nothing I tried everything on it , if I remeber correctly it was purple on the hud scanner so I though it was going to be a secret jump gate ,wasn't it in mercenary?
