Possible Bug - Points of Interest Missing on Nav Map

Post by Reemul »

I have been playing for a few hours all fine when I jumped to the Rucker system. Sodl some stuff at a station and then went and mined some Diamond.

I saved the game and a while later reloaded and there are no stations anywhere to dock with, no cities on planets showing either.

I jumped back to pearl and nothing there either.

Under Local PTS there is only Gate, Asteroids and Planet. No station and the 2 green + signs for the cities on the planet are also missing.

I created another Pilot and loaded him up and everything is fine again. Tried a restart and same problem still.

I was wondering if there is a key to remove POI's from the Nav.

Here is a screenshot of the Pearl System.

Which version of the game are you running? Sounds like you ran into an issue were the modules got cleared from the profile. Are you running any security software that might interfere with the read/write operations of the game? So far, it seems the cause for this might be related to that. When the game attempts to retrieve existing module data from a profile for its comparison operations, something blocks it from doing so, so the data isn't loaded (since it can't be and is blocked) and isn't incorporated into the save game. I can repair such damage to a save game, but I'd like to pin down what is causing it so the game can either present an error message or perhaps attempt to repeat a blocked operation. Please send me the save game for evaluation and include a zipped msinfo report on the system ( http://www.starwraith.com/evochronlegacy/faq.htm#208 ).

Looks like one of the problems (intermittent crashes) and possibly both were related to the same issue here ( http://www.starwraith.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12328 ), namely a program called 'AMD Gaming Evolved' also known as 'Raptr'.

The DLL in question is ltc_game32-106568.dll, which isn't part of the game itself at all, but is apparently one of the DLL's associated with that external program. It appears the program attempts to intercept various game functions and in the process, seems to introduce stability problems by doing so in a variety of games ( https://www.google.com/#q=amd+gaming+ev ... es+crashes ) and may also have issues when running both games through Steam and Raptr/AMDGE at the same time.

Since I don't know what the program is attempting to do to games it interacts with, what type of injection/interference it may be performing (the DLL above is somehow getting hooked into games), I don't yet know if the program may be causing issues with lost modules during a save operation. Further testing would be appreciated to see if stopping it allows the game to perform required save operations as needed. For now though, at least for the crashing issue in games recorded in the Windows error log, stopping that program appears to solve it.
