Bug (Legacy): Crew still disappearing

Post by Tanvaras »

Hello all,

I am still losing my crew when I reload my pilot save to continue playing each day.

Tried my 3 pilot saves, and all do the same thing with crew. I only have a few hours into the game, but I have been making sure they are paid just above the average to keep them happy etc. And each time I reload they no longer part of my crew and I have to find new crew once again.

Other than that loving EM:L

Keep an eye on chat when you dock. If your crew isn't at 100%, there's a chance they will jump ship. I keep my crew happy by paying them three times the asking price ... and, even then, there's a chance one or more of them will leave the ship if I fail a contract (whereby their percentage drops by one or two for each failed contract).

I don't know if anything has changed in EL but in EM you try to hre crew with as high an initial Loyalty and Skill as you can find but the better the Loyalty the more likely they will stay.
Then do contracts until you get them up to 100% Loyalty and Skill and as long as you don't fail many contracts they will not jump ship.
I've had my same crew in EM for over 3 years.
Again, Loyalty is the most important one to keep the from leaving you. Try ti find crew with >70% ratings before hiring them - it may take time and searching but it's worth it.

Well sometimes you gotta unless you know of an infinite fuel source or buy/sell method.

For a long time I would save just before I docked so that if my crew jumped ship my save would give me another try at keeping them. I would raise their pay then :).

You should keep an eye on the crew even once they are at 100% loyalty.
AS you become richer they will want higher pay and also if you fail any contracts
their loyalty will drop.

Get a fuel converter and a mining beam.
Then fuel scoop nebula or nearby a sun.
Infinite fuel.
