When in jump drive, could you implement 'drop out of jump' when close to mass feature? Or have an offset option when right clicking on the map screen?

Please!

Thanks.

Krasnv, what I do is use RIGHT click to lock onto the target I want to jump to in the Nav map. This makes sure the X,Y, and Z are locked onto the target. I then left click close to the target so that I set my actual nav point adjacent to the target. I usually jump right into gates/hangars, but asteroid fields or caves I make sure to right click to auto-set the coordinates on the target and then left click somewhere close so I can come in from a short distance. That is the offset.

Also you can hire a navigation officer. He (or she) will automatically adjust your jump, so that you don't crash into large mass objects.

In Legacy, most local objects are listed on the left side of the Nav console. If you click on a listed object, it will plot a safe jump point near the object.

Are you sure of that? Clicking the station in Pearl makes me ram the station when jumping...

Make sure you're headed in a direction aligned with one of the docking bays.

You have 5 small marks on your compass. Thos are aligned with the dockingbays. Pitch at zero!

and yeah I read the same thing today, that if you use the Object button in your NAV list it's supposed to put you a safe distance, haven't tried it yet.

I haven't used the listed object function either. Sounds like it does the same as a Navigation Officer. I wonder if there's any reason to hire a Nav officer in EL?

As far as I can tell the object button only targets the closest station, gate etc...not anyone you choose. Firing up the game now, but that's how I remember it from earlier.

It only sets waypoints to map icons and only in your current sector.

Also set waypoint to nearest station, gate, etc would be nice.

It is already in the game, even if limited to the sector you are in. In the navigation menu, left of the map, you may see "Gate", "asteroid" and so. If you clic on one when available it selects the mentionned object from the sector.

I mean without opening the map. Being able to press "B" and having my waypoint set to the nearest base.

Given that the keys can be remapped, B can be anything.

Hello,

*** SPOILER ALERT ***

Not everything shows up on the nav map, and that is intentional.

Explorers will have a field day finding stuff.

So some / all systems are not fully explored, or some systems do not appear on the star map?

It still would be nice to navigate with hotkeys rather than the cumbersome nav map.

Yes

Just because you can buy a Mantis does not mean you actually really need one.

 If you outfit your ship for exploration, you only need to open the Navigation Console, zoom it all the way out, adjust your Destination sector coordinates for a long trip, then activate autopilot. Keep an eye on the Nav map ... and watch for uncharted star systems.

Hello,

I just want to point out that not everything including planets shows up on your nav map.

Some times your science officer will give you a hint, but only when you enter a sector.

Other times you will only find something by accident, you actually have to see it, as nothing shows up on nav map and you crew don't let you know.

It's only a fragment of the systems that are displayed on your map.

Now, go out there and find the rest! ;)

:o Very likely. I'd forgotten about the "cloaked" planet in Andromeda in EM. Also, IIRC there was another cloaked planet in EM ... as described in one of the quests. So, it wouldn't be much of a stretch to assume Vice has kept those planets ... and probably added a few more.

Open the nav map and all the points of interest are listed so you can click on them ;)

I am away of the nav map's PoI.

Having hot keys would be easier and not break the immersion so much.
