Help! Ship keeps using downward thusters! *Strafe*

In the demo beginning tut, my ship kept on falling but I realise it was NOT gravity as the input on the top right said I was pressing the Z *Down thuster* key for some reason. Help?! I mainly use a joystick *USB* but I also have a xbox *USB again* controller plugged in. :l

Sometimes when stuff liek this happens to me it's because my Saitek X52 is sending signals. Like some games that I play with a xbox controller I'll start spinning and realize that my Saitek is interfering, even though the xbox controller is the default device and x52 isn't configured for the game. Try unplugging things. Default is 'Z' to strafe down, so check to see if the 'Z' key is stuck down or something. It happens a lot more than people realize. I've noticed in my career doing support that keys get stuck without any visual cue and sometimes I lock the PC and press all the keys down just to unstick them all. Sometimes happens with SHIFT, ALT and whatever and people will say everytime I press F the search bar is coming up, so I smack the CTRL key a few times and it fixes it. Hopefully it's something simple and dumb like that.

If it's just minor down thrust then it could be the deadzone.
Gamepads are terrible for requiringa higher deadzone setting in EM for instance.
Try doing the windows calibration if you haven't already for both devices and that might help.

I'm sorry guys, turns out that the vertical thusters were binded to a part of my joystick that is not even there. Some how that means that it will still thrust, I fixed it though. Thanks for helping out guys!
