Change what Device a Joystick is Detected as in both Mercenary and Legacy
My Saitek AV8R is detected as Device 4, I have no other game controllers besides a 360 Controller. I tried switching to different USB ports, but to no avail. My old control scheme uses Device 2 and I have been trying to figure out how to change it in bulk/in a text file outside of the game to either use Device 4 or switching it the joystick to Device 2.

The device order is generally set up by Windows. Technically, you could hand edit the configuration text files and change device ID's, but it would probably be quicker to just remap them to whatever new ID you need to bind them to in the menu (especially since you'd already have the visual reference in the menu for the old device ID and which controls were mapped to which functions).
One new option in Legacy is the ability to set up a global configuration file. Open the ControlProfile1.txt file in the game's install folder to view the available options. With that, you can set buttons and axis controls to specific functions. Then load the profile in the game to any device ID you want to assign them to (whatever is the currently highlighted device at the top of the menu). It might take a while to initially set up, but makes binding custom controls to any device ID quicker next time around.
