Well hello!

Post by Viper »

In my experience, good things happen when you're either in the shower or on the toilet. Like earlier today, when suddenly I felt the urge to have a look at a couple of space sims I hadn't payed any attention to for a long time. In fact, I haven't played PC games for ages.

So after trying out a bit of Star Citizen and concluding that it looks stunning but I simply refuse to spend €1000 for a new PC with high enough specs to be able to play the game with the quality settings anything higher than 'Low', and being of the opinion that, while being in space, I missed something I couldn't really point out, that I had experienced in other games. So I moved on.

And then it suddenly appeared to me that it had been ages since I last played EM. So I did a bit of googling to find the forums again, downloaded the game and all the mods I could remember ever having used lol, and here we are. Couldn't simply jump in without saying hello, so here it is. Noticed that a couple of veteran folk are still alive on the forums. How you guys doing!

Which servers from say 3 years back are still rolling? Who's still playing?
And uhm, having not played for like 2-3 years, I seem to have lost my pilot profiles. Would anyone with a high level profile a a nice sum of credits on it be willing to share it?

Unless whoever administers Chiron gets in touc with Vice then Chiron I don't think will be back online so that currently leave Outer Rim as the only US server.
It's pretty good but player stations must be built up again from scratch. I've done some here and there like Talison Conflict, Talison, and a couple other places.

Then there's the overseas servers, Galatica sometimes on weekends and Orion and one MP only server I can recall the name of since I don't play MP only servers.
You might catch some of us, me, Fox, Ace P, and a few others on Outer Rim generallyEvening hours US CST time give or take some. Would be nice to see more on.

Thanks for the welcome!

Unfortunately I don't think I'll be anywhere near as active as I was a couple of years ago. I'll probably just play a little bit as a form of relaxation every now and then. I also won't be doing anymore modding and graphics work. I simply don't have the necessary time available anymore. :)

Of course, I'll still be flying the [X] Rebel tag, simply because it's the coolest tag out there! And if I understand correctly, the Orion Sigma server is the most popular EU server nowadays?

Good to see you guys by the way! And SeeJay, you know I never really played your Over the Hill Quest? Probably a good time to do that now! ;)

Cya in game!

Hey Viper, welcome back!

I've just started the Over the Hill Quest... just working my way through the original IMG contracts that lead up to it. If you want a flying partner on the Quest just give me a shout.

Are you doing the original IMG Quest or the Over the Hill Prologue version (approved by Vice - with the start of Chuck's story)?

Uhm, I was planning on doing the 'Over the Hill' version. And I think I'll just redo the original quest as well before that, just for fun. :)

Except the OtH version of the IMG quest is the 'prologue' story of the IMG quest included and that leads into the main OtH quest and story

:)

ps if that makes sense :P

 Perhaps I should've said that the prologue is nearly identical to the original quest.

I'm doing the OTH version of the original Quest... the prologue to OTH. The contracts are the same, just with the added story content... which is excellent by the way. I'm up to the escort mission in Cerulean and enjoying the storyline. I did the original Quest ages ago, but decided to go through the OTH version to get the background story. Once I start getting into the "new" missions I'll video log some my progress for fun.

Great MCCON! ;-)

The OtH quest step 1-25 contracts are the same as the original quest. The text has been tweaked to fit the
story on my website that gives you background information of the main character, Yeager.

Along the way a few bits from Marvins "Hitchhikers Guide" quest is also used (with permission) since they kind
of "merged" at one point.
