I bought this 2 days ago on a steam sale, (can't believe i never seen it before) i spent the first 2 days doing the tutorials and getting the visual mods setup, i chose combat pilot and this is me embarking on my journey
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9b9yvfS ... e=youtu.be
im a big eve online player and this has dragged me away in a big way, ive now sold the military ship (price seemed to good not to trade) and got a nice little civilian ship.
There's still ppl around this system that shoot me so i may have to move elsewhere and start exploring, ideally i'd like to go into the deeps of space as a group on multiplayer searching for hidden planets/treasures.
Anyway i just gotta say Vice you are a f***** genius

My first steps in the evochron universe
Welcome to the Evochron universe. I have to hand it to you, after watching the video, I am impressed. Most people play the game a while before fiddling with the customizations, but you went right in there and got the look that you wanted early on. Hats off.
The universe is a big place. As you study the lore (and some of the older titles) you might find some clues about locations to explore. There is a lot of open space out there, and systems are far between, but it is worth it when you find one. Just make sure that if you go exploring, that you are set up for along trip and that you can resupply your fuel on the go.

think as im only an hour in that i'll restart as a non combat pilot, seemed a bit cheap selling the ship for milliions of credits right at the start of the game, ive also read the stories and lore behind evochron now too

My first steps in the evochron universe
i found my first hidden planet \\o/
was l886, took me all night to find, just headed in one direction away from sapphire and trilaterated its position, was a few sectors out but found it none the less, this bugger was 50 sectors up the y coordinate too.
this game conveys how vast space is like no other, only having a c1 jump drive probably didn't help but im just beginning, i upgraded the fuel tank though and at 1 point it was a case of turn back or go for broke, i went for broke and luckily found the system and a station.

I swear by SeeJay's Planet Finder. And I recommend upgrading your drive for exploration. It's not really more fuel-efficient, but it will keep you from developing jump psychosis.
