The fee is based on how much credit you have.
The more money you make the higher the station fee will go.
Also if you store some thing in Sapphire at 150000 and then go to Oylmpus and store something you just doubled your storeage fee (for 2 stations) to 300000. Three stations and it's 450000, etc., etc.
If your money drops enough the station fee will drop a little - I thik the minimum is 150000 per station or maybe it's less - been a long time since I was poor in EM (wish I could say the same for RL).
Right now my fees for 2 stations is about 410000 with something like 1 bil in credits.
Good info, thanks! Tho, I think you may have one too many zeros on some of those figures? I've not paid over 100k for a station fee yet (actually not even near that).

I don't know what constitutes "rich" in this game, but I am at least at the point where credits don't matter (usually >30mil cash on hand). I can replace credits a lot faster than I can spend them. Frankly, I find it a little too easy to make money in this game (or maybe it's not easy enough to spend it)? It's no problem for me to pull in 8-12mil+ in 10 minutes. If I get "low" on money, I just do a couple quick trades and problem solved.

However, I am going to start building a few more purpose-focused ships, and that will get expensive...I mainly fly a "Swiss Army" mammoth (and it is a nice ship, but would be more fun and effective to get a little more specific with additional loadouts/frames).

Anyway, i'm rambling...cheers!

@ Statik. - The g310 is a PS2 style controller. I fit it to the forward-left loop so that it sits diagonally then I employ the wonderful voodoo known as 'duct tape'. :D

Oddly enough, the whole thing fits nicely onto the lid of a 5 gallon plastic contractor's pail - the buckets they sell drywall joint compound in. :o Works really well for me because I prefer to have the stick centered, and this allows a 'between the knees' setup.

I'm saving some ducats for a few upgrades to my machine, but once that happens, I will - finally - get to posting EM related pics and vids. I'll be sure to photo the controller setup. :)

----

I don't know if the Logitech Gaming Profiler program works with the Wingman, but it is pretty decent for creating key mapping assignments. I had the profiler map the up/down/left/right arrows on the keyboard to the D-pad on the G310, then I was able to assign those arrows to various functions within the Key Mapping menu of the game. Worked like a charm. :)

You should be able to get the Logitech profiler from their website.

The zeros are correct :) Wait till you get a few hundred millions or 1 billion. As I I tried to say, it's been a lont time since I had under 100,000,000 so I don't remember what the station fees used to be - seems like it was like 65,000 but I may be wrong. That's about what it was the 1st time I stored something at any rate.

Well now, you can't do like some of the old 1900s - 1930's English aristocrats and just spend and watch the money dwindle as prices rise. You got to keep trading now and then to keep the money coming in.

It works!!! :D I've set my hat as such:

NW and NE - changes Weapon/Shield energy balance
SW and SE - changes IDS scale
N, W, E, S - reinforce shields, respectively

Brilliant :D

Later, I set a button to target nearest enemy (alt+R) which was on my "wish list" (have another button to target ship in sights).

Maybe just a few more tweaks to perfection (e.g. I don't use directional shield reinforcing nearly as much as balance, so I may set one direction to balance and use the others for even more functionality)

Also, forgot to say thank you for the info about the Logitech software! Had no idea this existed :D

You're quite welcome, Statik. I'm glad my experiences can help.

I don't know if you've found it but, there is a key binding for 'Nearest Hostile Secondary control'. Basically what it does is targets the nearest enemy without the need for adding ALT to the key press. I don't know if that's of any use to you, or if that's the one you've already set up, but I figured I'd put it out there. :)

Nice, I'll check it out. Not sure it will help, but didn't know it exists ^_^

Also, have you had any issues with your custom bindings dropping out, requiring a game restart? It's happened to me once or twice. Weird.

Oh, and that actually may clear up another confusion...Was unclear how the "alternate" controls work. I see a bunch of them in the options, but was like "ok, so this is alternate, now where's the primary" lol

IIRC, I have had Profiler 'dropouts', but I forget what the cause was. It might have been caused by minimizing the game and opening another window. I don't know if there is any fix except to restart the game.

There are a few key bindings that eliminate the need to add ALT to the press to get the function. I think most of them are labeled as 'secondary control'.

Some I can think of off the top of my head:

Quicksave secondary: (ALT+F9 normally) - Makes quicksaving 1-button easy.
Mining/Tractor Beam Toggle secondary: I rebound this to the plain B key so the beam locks in 'on' position instead of using ALT+B. Press B again to deactivate.

I'm sure there are more, but I'm at a loss for memory power atm. :o

There are entries on the 1st page for: Secondary Weapon Previous and Secondary Weapon Next. Those are for selecting the items on the ship's missile hardpoints, not to be confused with the other controls labeled as 'Secondary'.
