I'm approaching the end of the IMG quest line, solo'd every mission so far, one way or another but this one is tough.

Over the Hill provided a lot of good tactical advice for a new pilot so I assume the advice from UPT 7 is the way to go this time as well.

I think what I'm going to do is fly to 5500 of the pack, pop a stealth, get as many as possible within 5k before my time runs out, set throttle to 1350 at 90, shields to rear/full and drag them up, as many as I can from the original pack. I don't think I can range pull them all at once.

If I can get them up there, the ones that I can, I believe I can whittle them down, kiting with reverse thrust.

If they don't all come with me, will I have to go back to the original Way point?
Do atmospheric adds count in the kill count? There are a lot of adds on this one.

I did not have to go back to the original waypoint. They pretty much all followed me up into atmosphere.

Planetside kills do count. First thing you need to do is identify if the contract is against rebel or guild pilots. Then, if some of them bug out, you can deploy a sensor station and go hunting any red dot you see ... concentrating on those which meet that rebel/guild requirement.

I was flying missions with Beta Ver yesterday and some of the contracts bugged out. When I opened map to jump around the box like I usually do I saw the big yellow circle, so now I assume that was what Beta did, deployed a sensor station.
I was able to jump right on them then and finish the job without jumping all over. I was wondering where that had come from.

Well that cleared that mystery up.
Good stuff, thanks Marvin.
I see an opportunity to try a new trick.

Nope, wasn't me deploying that sensor station, but there definitely was one deployed, thought it was you Sam.
Could it be they auto deploy or did we have a helpful mystery player ?

It has to be a player that deploys them. Always be aware of your surroundings! ;)

Next time he might hunt you!:o

Wow! It was centered on us to...
Trying to remember who all was in game at the time.

Don't know but I don't think so.
It has to be deployed within +/- 50 000 from the center of the sector tho.
It centers on the map over the point where it was deployed.

That means that it can be deployed well outside your radar range, but still within the center requirements. Hence, You'll never see him/her.
That's why you should keep an eye on where all pilots are so they don't sneak up on you.
When all pilots leave the sector, it will self-destroy.

 The easiest method for determining who all is in your sector is to press the tilde key (~) ... all players and their sector coordinates show up in the upper-right corner of your screen. It's how "enemy" players hunt fresh game.

I knew about the ~ key but I thought it was just for ping and who's on, I wasn't aware of the location or just never noticed it. Yeah a sector is really small with a probe of sensor station I guess once you have that info.

Whats the most common form of ambush? I can't imagine anything outside of almost dead to begin with that I couldn't escape from now if I needed to.

Haha!
I'm eager to learn.

I'm still hiding from the spoiler as to where the installable stealth device is found. I'm thinking it will fall in my lap during the IMG quest at some point but not sure. I know it will be a game changer for a lot of missions and potential for pvp is huge.

Wink nod, I figured so. I'm having to back off of IMG for a few days to figure out which mil ship I'm going to like best. So far I think my Starmaster and 100 crew is the best I can do until my skills improve and I think I'm hitting the wall again in that department. Evoch E is too fast and Chimera is...
I dunno.
Something just doesn't feel right, maybe a couple more missions.

The Starmaster is very sluggish and the Mammoth is a bit better.
For me the Evoch C and E were too sensitive for my flight skills but I found the Chimera gave me a better feel, aka more agility than the Mammoth, so I stuck with the Chimera for warzone work. I got most of my Rank and money flying the Mammoth and Starmaster. There are no big Civvie ships that suit me because I insist on at least 550 assembly, 21 or more Capacity. I really want something like the Starmaster with about 600 assembly, 24 Capacity, and 50 agility.
The Legacy is close but I'm having to sacrifice too much in the configuration for me to be really satisfied.

I hear you.
The Starmaster has spoiled me badly with the full crew, assembly and capacity, shes just a bit of a slug.

I play in the mousepoint config and there is no option to adjust sensitivity, so what I'm doing today is starting with the Lamprey and working my way up through the larger frames to see what feels best. So far the Lamprey feels pretty good in Talison WZ but still just a little bit squirrely on the the full turn arounds so maybe yet just a little to agile.

I'm also experimenting with a new keymap, so far it looks and feels pretty good out of mousepoint config. I'll elaborate on that more later for further advice but I think I've found my best set up finally. I just need to settle into my favorite warship now as the Starmaster with full crew is going to be my explorer from now on.

Alright, this is the conclusion I have come to via my experimentation today.

The Carrier is basically the Swiss Army Knife of Evochron for combat pilots. :P
You basically fly out to it and pick the blade or tool that best suits the job.

Check the planet out there in the boonies. If you don't find what you're looking for the first time, take a walk around the block and try again.
