These missions generally say that the item will show up on sensors; what sensors? If by this, what is meant is the radar scope, darned if I can see anything in detail on said scope! Can someone tell me what I'm supposed to be looking for, and maybe how?
Thanks, guys!! You're the best!

When accepting contract. Set heading to zero, jump.
If you can't see a pink blip on radar, keep going on heading zero. It will show up.

Because of my eyesight I modified a lot of the HUD icon images, aka the Purple image for containers etc, and the ship icons. From post: 176368, Topic: tid=11886, author=DDoutel wrote:These missions generally say that the item will show up on sensors; what sensors? I had a hard tme seeing the purple blip in the Radar.
With the one I modified - it's larger and a bit brighter and shows up a lot better. A lot of the mods are on Seejay's webside and you just pick the ones you want (more or less) and unzip them into a folder you create (named hud) in the EM Game folder.
When yoo reach the nav point you just have to feep flying untl the Blip suddenly appears on your Radar. You probably won't see it right when you arive at the Nav point but have to search a bit - usually by just keepingon course until the Blip appears - then head toward it and complete the contract - Visual or Tractor & return to station.

Most of these contracts are either to recover or identify an object. When the contract is accepted from a station in space, the object can appear any time after exiting hyperspace ... so, you need to keep your eye on the radar. I find that you can do the contracts faster if you maintain IDS control and keep your throttle off until after exiting hyperspace. Then, if the purple blip doesn't immediately show on radar, you maintain your current heading and throttle up, going past the navigation point if necessary. Eventually you'll see the blip.
Unless you accept the contract from a city. Whereupon it's possible that the object will drift toward the planet due to the influence of the planet's gravity, making it more difficult to track it down ... especially if you take an unusually long time exiting the planet (don't try to jump until you've exited the atmosphere). If you can't find the wayward object, either deploy a sensor station (purple blips show up inside the sensor's sphere) or follow the guidelines in the H2GE for tracking and recovering such objects.

Hello,
You need to be looking at the radar as soon as you jump, and be on inertial as sometimes it in front of you.
You can always hit F2 again if you miss it.

Just a warning, the jump gates also show up as purple objects on the radar. That got me confused in the very first missions

Thanks, Paul; didn't realize SeeJay had any mods on his site; I'll check them out! From post: 176371, Topic: tid=11886, author=PaulB wrote: Because of my eyesight I modified a lot of the HUD icon images, aka the Purple image for containers etc, and the ship icons.
