Finally won the second mission race after MANY MANY tries. Though I have not been this pleased playing a spacesim since Wing Commander & FreeSpace in the 90's, I was in my 40's then. What I'm talking about is the frustrating fun I had when first trying to get more from a girl than a kiss!

Not to be too metaphorical, but try after try, it felt like an invisible hand kept pushing me out of the tunnel when I would get partway through. Finally I saw there was a path ahead that I had to flow through and follow with intuition instead of thought. And then, when I finally got through that last ring, it was like, Oh My God! this is the most wonderful feeling in the world.

Thank you, everyone involved in bringing this wonderful environment to fruition.

BTW, I think the only way I did it was because of my X55 hotas. EM has the best joystick setup I have seen anywhere.

 That was probably Darth Vader. Evidently you used the Force against him. Congratulations. ;)

I think that invisible hand is called momentum. Once you learn proper thrust control, she'll take you where you want to go.

Hello,

I do it all with a keyboard and a mouse.

This game is a bit like driving . . . . practice . . . . practice . . . . practice.

 And the race is a lot like parallel parking. When all else fails, you go around the block and use the parking garage. ;)

Only if you're uninterested in passing the driving exam.

CS: I recommend getting a joystick. It just seems a lot more intuitive.

 I hand a girlfriend once who took her first driving test on a busy day in Los Angeles. All she had to do was drive around the block without getting into an accident. Which she managed to do with flying colors. Personally, I think somebody stole the stanchions a day or two earlier.

Good looks will not help our friend get through the plot missions in EM! Only practice and dedication.

Well I have seen, relatively speaking, Good looking people getting away with a lot of things. But of course Beauty is a relative thing in the eyes of the beholder!.....;):P:cool:
