I found that placing a waypoint at the entrance to the cave helps a lot.

There is a generic map of asteroid caves available from SeeJay's site - it only gives the layout, not what can be found in different caves (and there are some really amazing things to find in most of the caves!!)

Note: since the Expansion, jumping directly into a cave is virtually impossible (anyone done it please U2U me so I can say definitely whether you can or can't for the Hints&Tips Guide

Jumping from place to place within the caves is now a no no!

The squeezes still work though
