I've just expanded the number of buttons and keys I can use by adding a pair of Cougar MFD devices to my setup The eventual aim is to lose the keyboard (which takes up too much space) unless I need to chat with players not on TS or using ingame chat.
I've come across a few issues which I'm working through - I've solved a couple of problems but my first one I've hit a wall with is Constructing a (named) Trade Station. I've assigned the Build Constructor and Deploy Constructor options to two banks of buttons. They work well but . . . is there a way to actually name a Trade Station? When I press the button the name option flashes on and off (blink and you'll miss it!) and an unnamed station begins its construction period.
anyone suggest solutions / work arounds to it?

IIRC, if you use the immediate build directive on a button, the only way to enable a name for a station is to pre-enter it before you press the button. So open the build menu, highlight the trade station option, then type in the name you want, then just close the menu. Then you can fly to where you want to build it and the game should retain the name of the station you originally wanted. Then when you press the button to build, the station will be built with the station name you entered.
Thanks also for a work around - I'll try it out in the morning. It's certainly better than I'd feared might me the situation!

Anything that causes the build menu to disappear clears it
I can put in the name and fly around for a bit and then use the button to create a named station but jumping or opening the nav or inventory console or even looking LRUB clears it.
Ahhh well, never mind - it's not the most vital thing - if I'm constructing a station (or a few) I'll haul the keyboard back into the cockpit
Thanks for the suggestion
