BSOD and lost profile

Post by skyratt »

While flying the other night EM had a BSOD while flying the Sol system. I wasn't doing anything particularly out of the ordinary so hard to say happened to trigger it an the error it displayed happened so fast i couldn't not log it.

It did however cause the profile of the currently loaded pilot to disappear completely from the pilot log. Upon looking for the pilot in the saved games folder, I don't think they carry over the names of the pilot so I'm not sure how to go about trying to find it to attempt a restore.

Anyone have a suggestion beyond that?

Send me any files from the save data folder with the name 'pilot' in it and I'll see if they are recoverable. starwraith.com > contact Also, if you find a file with the name 'crash' in it, send that as well.

Could have just been a driver issue, but watch for possible failing hardware, particularly video card, memory, or hard drive.

Edit: For more detailed analysis of BSOD's, a utility like 'WhoCrashed' can help: http://www.resplendence.com/whocrashed
