Pearl (SP) is 'good' now!

Post by picommander »

Finally got it, as the topic says. The strange part and what is still confusing me is that the last steps towards my goal were exclusively done on MP servers (the last step was on Olympus, decreasing Guild reputation down to 7%, [Tranquility, Pearl]). From my understanding (and from what Vice has said) faction reputations should NOT carry over but in this case they DID, no matter on what server I was. It always carried over and in both directions (SP<->MP).

Once more: I'm NOT talking about overall system level, which I meanwhile understand is static on MP servers (and of course still hostile on all MP versions of Pearl).

But as a result of the carried over faction reputations my SP version of Pearl is now 'good'! :P
The system reputation shift was immediately there, right after loading my profile in SP.

Enough has been said (from my part), now it's your turn. How was this even possible?

Sounds like something in the contract mechanism allowed it. Could have been some other change in a recent update that allowed it to be activated for contracts while still deactivated for every other action. Something I'll be digging into.

I'm still grinding on Vega.

Navy 100%
Energy 100%
Rebels 13%
Guild 0%
Miners 67%

Result: moderate.

Killing rebels no longer has any appreciable effect on the Rebel percentage. I think if can get them below 10%, it might flip, but as it is, everyone but guild and rebels are friendly, yet I still pay hefty docking fees in the system.

From my limited experience I'd say you'll need both Rebels and Guild below 10% (8% should do, maybe even 9%). Miners don't be that high at overall system reputation 'moderate'. From what I've gathered Navy and Energy somewhere above 90% should do, but at this point you usually got them both at 100% anyway as a side effect from contracts. So either fight a lot of random Rebels or Navy Patrol contracts, which seems to be always against Rebels. The amount of waypoints/numbers of enemies you need to gain a point in faction reputation seems to vary though. Something I haven't figure out yet.

Please keep in mind, that this thread is meant to be about faction reputation transfers between SP<->MP that don't seem to be intended the way it works right now.

 I suggest putting the thread on "pause" then ... Vice is in the process of troubleshooting and fixing the possible bug. ;)
