I played Evochron mercenary a year ago...then kind of dropped off for a while. Anyways I was picking it back up yesterday and for some reason it won't let me distribute power between the weapons and shields using the [ ] keys.
Yes I checked the keybinds to make sure It looks like it starts to move to -1 but then just stays at 0S / 0W. Is there some kind of piece of equipment you need to do this? I cant remember
A slider on your stick (if you have one) is much more convenient in combat!
It's the same for having the IDS multiplier on your stick as well. It also means that you last setting is remembered

I mapped these to the Z and X keys on my keyboard, since my left hand is on WASD when I fly. There are only a few keys that I really need in combat, so I keep them huddled close together.
I could have freaking swore I turned off the energy distribution on the axis, but there it was...on axis 9. Turning that off fixed it.
Okay I have one other keybinding question that has always perplexed me...how do I mouselook around my cockpit? I hit F10 and try to look around with my mouse but nothing happens. I tried using my joystick and no luck either.
And to the above questions, I am using a TM HOTAS (a cheap one), and I don't have an extra slider switch to do the energy managment.
F10 is the key for the mouse look mode. So check to make sure that key function hasn't been cleared or moved. Then make sure the 'Mouse Look' indicator appears at the bottom of the screen when you enable it. If those check out, then see if your HOTAS might be applying centered mouse input somehow which perhaps could be overriding your default mouse input.
Its the second last button (mouse look on/off (cockpit view)
check which button it's set up for and if you are happy use that one . . . or click on it and then click on the button you want to activate it (F10 as set up by the game)

Okay, that's the problem...whenever I hit F10, the 'Mouse Look' text never appears...yes it is bound to F10 with no conflicts.
So what would stop the mouse look text from appearing?
You could try reassigning it to F10 or to another key (temporarily) in case there's a glitch in the file

Okay I did have the FaceTrackNoIR program on, but it wasn't running (active tracking wasn't turned on). I went ahead and closed it out and restarted the game but I still couldn't get mouse look to do anything. It's strange b/c I can do Ins/Pg Up and it will look left/right around the cockpit.
