The easest way is to go on MP, find a pilot you trust, give him the money, log off and then on again with the profile you want to transfer the money to and have the pilot give it back to you. It's all about trust (lol)!:D:P:D

The most you can transfer at a time is 99,999,992 credits from pilot to pilot! The transfer from pilot to pilot is a bit tricky tough!
You have to target each other and be in targeting range and both open your trade console then the one transferring the credits has to click on his credits and enter the amount to transfer then hit "Enter" and the amount will go in the box under "Items to offer" and then click on submit on the screen!

Now the Person receiving the transfer will see the amount appear in the Box under "Items Being offered". All he has to do now is click on submit to transfer it to the credits box!.....;)

Why do you want to split your chars after all? A single char can be what you want at any time and you only have so much time to play that you then would split between 2 chars.

If you save to multiple player slots your money and rank are duplicated as well.
then you can setup each profile as you like.

Our resident explorer, DaveK, has pilot profiles set as various locations all over the Evoverse so he can revisit places he wants to study. One of his scientific journeys involved stuffing the Nav coordinate entry boxes full of 9s and seeing what happened when he fell off of the edge of the world.:cool: He saved his progress at points along the way in case there was anything he might want to revisit there. He also wrote a great flight log report about it that can be found here in the forum.:cool::cool:

I generally like to keep a profile that has a military ship, and one that has a civilian ship. That way, I don't have to rent hangar storage, or get rid of my 100 skill /100 loyalty crew, or travel to a carrier or high-tech area station whenever I want to swap ships.

That's how I started (for pretty much the same reasons) but then I wanted to skill up a single pilot in both disciplines, civilian an military. So I dropped this idea again. I can clone him later at any time if I want.

I also want a Civi and Military ship. I am also a Super Noob so all of my wonderful ideas may change as I learn more. In my other game I had a fleet of ships stationed all over the Universe for Rapid Response to pirate activity. Everyone wants to be a pirate. So I chose a Cop. Protect and Serve.

Combat in the Evo is something different all together. I love it and find myself so confused by it. I have no idea where my path will lead. At this moment I am just working one ship. Since I read:
Capt_Caveman: If you save to multiple player slots your money and rank are duplicated as well.
then you can setup each profile as you like.
I am still in awe at the little things and often catch myself flying around for no other reason than, "I wonder what that looks like?" or "Can I mine that?" :D

See??? I'm not the only one who doesn't want to lose his Crew when swapping ships.

 Back when there were more hostilities and rogue pilots attacking clan stations ... that was a good reason. If, at the time of an attack, you were 20 minutes away (real time), a second profile closer to the threat was needed. It was a lot quicker to exit the game and swap profiles. Alas, only real pilots could threaten your stations ... and, currently, few rogues roam the Evoverse

I keep a set of profiles for interesting places I've been or places that are hard to get to. So for example I can pop into Sol or Andromeda or that system with LGM in flying saucers to have a quick play or test something out or just get nostalgic!

I keep a profile with quest progress at zero so I can try new quests without having to start a new newbie profile .

I've also got a couple of 'janitor' profiles - equipped with a full set of station detonators for cleaning systems up when requested.

I have a civilian profile for the occasions when I want to play in the WL - you need cargo bays to collect the stuff you need. I fly a military profile most of the time because I'm not good at combat yet and need all the advantages I can get! (the extra speed is also nice)

I've kept a couple of profiles for testing new versions - they're in deep space (which has caused the odd hiccough in the past.)

And yep, I have a main profile that I play usually - but the others all have their uses

:)

 Yup ... that's another good reason. There are a number of items which are available only in a few systems ... SDs being one of them. And, even in the systems where the odd item can be found, it won't always be for sale ... assuming you can remember where you got the item in the first place.

You just gave me an idea, Marvin. When I find something that is awesome I should always add it to the Map Log. If I label it where I can remember, of course :D

 When you add something like that to the log, make sure you first set your location using the option on the left side of the Navigation Console. If I had a dollar for every time I manually flew from a waypoint to a purple blip on my radar and then forgot to set my destination coordinates before logging the location ....

I've three pilot profiles that I fly frequently. #1 profile is a Mercenary spawn-in (when Mercs first went live - back in the day.). #2 profile is a Miner/Trader. #3 profile is an original Combat Pilot spawn-in that I've morphed back and forth a few times. Routinely, I use the Racer spawn-in for testing purposes, for several reasons. Except for the Racer profile, I've back-ups stored for each & all, should I have an attack of dyslexic fingers or somethin'. ;) As ship frame and weapons lab templates are also included within the same savegame folder as the pilot profile, it's a good idea to make these pilot/profile back-ups as often as one is disposed favorably. 'Save early - Save often' and "Alt-F9" are your best friends in Evochron.
