OK, Now I'm disappointed. I made it to sol an came up to earth and got blown up. Hmm. Why was this a goal in the first place? Take a good bit of time to get there and when you finally do there is not much new and you get killed for trying to land. whadda? We "the players" should get some sort of reward for getting there. It seems to me a good natured rib by vice. But why? Don't want us landing on earth don't make it.

Earth Landing...
Hi EMapper
One reward is actually getting there and exploring the solar system!
The good news: It is possible to land on Earth - it's dead easy to land as a rain of small burning fragments!
However it can be done unscathed as well!
The bad news: It isn't easy to land on Earth in one piece! A few pilots have managed to discover the trick, but they are sworn to secrecy on a fate worse than death
LoE is probably the greatest challenge in the Evoverse - making billions of $$$ or becoming a Legend/Fleet Admiral are easy in comparison
There are a couple of 'Land on Earth' threads that you can trawl through for hints and clues, but many of us have been trying on and off for years without success. It seems that the AI control of automated defence ring, built during the Vonari wars, has been part 'fired' and now can't distinguish friend from foe from tourist

Although you flew there the hard way (though there is a WH to Sol from an uncharted system) there is a WH back from Sol to the gated systems - if you can find it.
Although it is full of spoilers you can download a comprehensive Hints&Tips Guide from SeeJay's site. Several hundred pages of advice from the community over the years. If you are interested you can also download a 'Mercenaries' Technical Guide' from the same place - it has details about how all your equipment works, the science and technology behind it and some helpful info on the Weapon Lab, TW's etc

It is the very inaccessibility of Earth that makes it attractive. It draws one's soul, like magic. To actually land there would inspire a tale of conquest, and then it would be magic no more.

Trying to land there is a complete waste of time, and it probably wasn't even intended to be possible. I think the only reason those people could land there was some kind of bug or cheat.

No bugs, no cheats. Just good, clean, specific thinking outside of 'the box'. It has been done. Persistence and innovation. Or, is it the other way 'round?
Personally know of two who did it. If two can, U can!
