Andromeda quadrant

Ahh, seems Ive been hunting somthing that aint there then:P
I was under the impression that there was a green planet that didnt show on radar...somwhere near the moon out there. Ive been flying round Andromeda looking for nothing then, great.

I probed and poked at stuff and played with the porter ofc. Then again Ive been doing it in Chimera, no crew, should prolly swap to civ ship for exploering eh

Whilst Im here I'll ask....is it a bad idea to use a plat minning beam while exploring that area...given that I will be just sucking up plat and possibly missing other goodies?

Andromeda is relatively what/who it is and so is its location related to the first two of what/who it is and so is when it is related to the first three of what/who it is and where it is.....etc....etc....

Way back I took the scenic route from Talison WZ all the way up to Andromeda.
Didn't find much from Vonarion and up.

It was a long time ago tho. Have no idea if Vice added some stuff up there since then!

Take a deploy constructor - build constructors don't work that far out!

Actually take both - Build constructors are much much much . . . faster for refuelling!

I followed some coordinates which led me far beyond the galactic plane. When I got to the destination, the Nav Computer said I was in Andromeda. That's all.

approaching Andromeda planet's surface, i saw a pink dot on my radar. Heading in his direction, I found a strange structure on the surface.
I eard about a starbase in the planetary ring, but i didn't find it.

@Arrakkh, that's a great find! I love your screenshot... looks like the half-buried remnants of a previous civilisation or a crash-landed cruiser.

I visited that place back in the earlier days of Evochron but I don't think that artefact existed at that time. Since the Mercenary expansion came out I never re-visited Andromeda... I imagine that there are other hitherto unknown discoveries waiting to be found.

(It's a Legends-genre military carrier. At least according to the Andromeda 'lore', it should be.)

P.S. Your platinum mining beam will just transfer platinum ore to your cargo hold. The tractor beam function still works on non-ore related items (ie: ore-related = metals, gold, sliver, diamonds, etc.); still pulls in Salvage, oxy, h2O, bio-illogicals, and etc.

Is that the relic referenced in the H2GE? (Btw, Dave, no ... I found nothing at those coordinates ... even my science officer came away empty handed.)

Went back to known space to install mining beam. Then back to Andromeda, through the short way (In this way i learned to manage the "black hole jumping" art)
I went back to the coordinates where i found the artifacts and... there was nothing!!!
After a while, I understood the reason: my coords were SPACE cooordinates, but the planet rotates.
Flying around the planet, I could see again the pink dot on my radar, and landed, but this time the relic is in the dark side of the planet (a shortcut to activate spacecraft's light, like in the asteroid cave, would be useful)
and i was unable to locate it exactly. I must wait the new Andromeda morning, now

I activated the teleporter and... surprise! I jumped to Deneb, instead of Rigel!

I must give up!
I located the object, and tried to:
mine it: nothing happens except collecting some ordinary resource
unload some fusion units collected near the crate in the asteroid field
jump into it(crashed)
shot it using laser, particle, both together.
what else can i try?

nothing happens. In the radar it appears very close (but underground) the pink dot, like a wormhole.

I also completed an orbit around the planet, following the rings, and didn't find any station inside them. May be it existed only in the previou version of evochron?

the "special part" of that artifact is now burried under the terrain in em v2
it shows on radar but you can never get to it

Love it! How many games allow you to fly directly down to the surface of an alien planet during the night, land, and watch the sunrise?!!

If memory serves me I believe a pink dot could equally be a container or a wormhole. So if you were able to extract something from the wreck with your tractor beam, probably that was a container... not necessarily a wormhole.

I beleieved the universe is the same, in any server. The only difference are the player-builded starbases.

Does anyone know what's the meaning of the brigh transparent cube orbiting around Andromeda planet?

My thanks to Arrakkh for deploying a fuel station for me in Andromeda and hanging around for the 40 mins it took me to refuel - I'd only brought a Build Constructor and didn't have enough fuel left to fly to the nearest station!

Arrakkh's kindness is part of what makes our community what it is!!
