Checking out HUD & asteroid mods Part 1

Post by DaveK »

As part of checking the resources thread I need to know whether certain mods have been tested on the EM Expansion (EM2).

Has anyone tried out the following HUDs in EM2 - if so do they work?

 [EM] ThinHUD: Minimalism Squared, by DynamicRanger
 Minimal HUD, by Vertex
 Minimalist HUD, by Nigel_Strange
 Maximilien-Malix Combo Gunsight, New Consoles and Mini Sound Mod, by onehand
 Kuertee's HUD v0.6, by kuertee
 HEX gunsight mod, by Nigel_Strange
 Viper's HUD and Dashboard, by Viper
 Star Trek HUD, by FinalFrontier

Same for scarb's asteroid mods . . .

Cheeky I know, but I don't have time to install and test each separate mod at the moment because there are lots and lots that need adding! :P

:)

Checking out HUD & asteroid mods Part 1

I have used, or am currently using, bits and pieces and restricted samplings of, just about each of the offered HUD's. As long as the mod crafter has paid attention to the file types (*.png versus *.jpg, and conversions as needed in Mercs 2.XX) - they've worked for me- some assembly required.

I've found that the asteroid(s) mod works well with either iteration (Mercs 1.XX & 2.XX)

Without going too far out on that limb, most all of the mod offerings, of what ever flavor or by whom ever the artist/crafter, I have flown or am currently flying, as a matter of course. Identifying what does or does not break the game or CTD's/Bluescreens, and reporting same as indicated. Strictly voluntary, you understand. I've probably more time than sense, it seems..... :) :P:P:P:P:P:P:P:P:P

Not sure about the rest, but Scarb's asteroid textures seem to be working.

The Maximilien-Malix Combo Gunsight should still work, with the exception of the Navigation and Inventory consoles as their layouts changed a bit in v2.

Thanks onehand!

Is this something that could be solved easily by editing the gauges file?

Don't think so because I believe that file is just be for the MFDs, but Viper and 8rennus' v2 consoles are awesome though! :D

The hex gunsight was designed for EM2. The minimalist hud was for EM1.
