Here it is. Neither perfect nor ready for release yet because the model layout would leave floating parts on other ships and I don't yet know how to relocate thruster flares. I'll work around this by either (a) doing a complete B5 conversion or (b) changing stuff like shields and cargo bays to visually compatible parts. Not sure which direction to take yet. I have models for other StarFury variants including a Thunderbolt so if enough people are interested I may go ahead with it. Any feedback would be welcome!

That's so cool, RavenO. Wow ! Looks are pretty much everything. Rendering looks really tight, and conforms to the B5 model real well. :):cool:

Wish I could take credit for the model, but it's a conversion from Scarecrow's Orbiter builds. Using it to experiment and learn EM modding as it's usually faster to convert instead of create. There are a lot of amazing free models out there. Will eventually be doing custom models though. Maybe start taking requests soon too. It looks like any blender-supported file could be used and if I can get meshes and textures it doesn't take very long to do, so start your wish lists...

I thought these files were lost to computer oblivion, but found them hiding in a forgotten folder. Looks like I'll be reviving this old project...

<a href="http://s1235.photobucket.com/user/raven ... b.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff4 ... d132db.png" border="0" alt=" photo EvochronMercenary2013-09-1912-21-25-56_zps22d132db.png"/></a>
<a href="http://s1235.photobucket.com/user/raven ... 3.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff4 ... e77703.png" border="0" alt=" photo EvochronMercenary2013-09-1912-22-54-56_zps45e77703.png"/></a>
<a href="http://s1235.photobucket.com/user/raven ... f.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff4 ... 87165f.png" border="0" alt=" photo EvochronMercenary2013-09-1912-22-08-23_zps5f87165f.png"/></a>

And a very rough draft of the cockpit:

<a href="http://s1235.photobucket.com/user/raven ... 9.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff4 ... 5ee899.png" border="0" alt=" photo EvochronMercenary2013-09-1912-26-07-42_zpsfc5ee899.png"/></a>

Normal and emissive maps are done. The model just needs to be re-optimized and tweaked a bit, about 50% done there. Not sure about the cockpit. Maybe do both canon and "Evochron" style... Regardless, it will have better modeling and textures.

Here's the rough draft for military frames instead of civilian. A better version with cockpit/HUD and more texture options is in progress. About 75% done with optimization as of last night.
Extract archive to EM directory and replace X in frame and mplane files with your preferred frame number 20-31 (see custom kit). Feedback and constructive criticism is welcome and appreciated!

I removed maneuvering thrusters and contrails because of alignment issues. Main thrusters are still there but misaligned, not sure if that can be fixed. Couldn't find that file in the custom kit. Still experimenting...

Nice. Already in use and not even finished yet! That gives me an idea... Maybe I'll add a "booster pack" to line up the thruster flares...

Hello RavenO! Welcome back! I've been waiting for your best efforts on this mod for quite a while. :) Bab5 fan for ages! Not being too overly concerned about the WIP, I went ahead and morphed the Lamprey frame (mplane26.etc.). Here's how it looks in EM2.XX on my platform:

Leaving Eclipse Carrier, Talison CZ.

* Rechecked the thread on the SX3 mod. No joy with locating the tiny mesh mod I'd recalled having been there. Was for some 'extruded' parts anyway. :(

Spent all day converting every triangle to quads but came up with this:

<a href="http://s1235.photobucket.com/user/raven ... 0.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff4 ... 69d3b0.png" border="0" alt=" photo notsmooth_zps0769d3b0.png"/></a>

I'm using Blender 2.67 for editing and filtering through Lithunwrap to convert to EM. Anyone have a clue as to what happened? The triangles are still there and Blender apparently doesn't export smoothing data to .x. The model is done, just need to figure out this bit before moving on to the cockpit.

Started adding details to the cockpit:

<a href="http://s1235.photobucket.com/user/raven ... a.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff4 ... 27f7ca.png" border="0" alt=" photo EvochronMercenary2013-09-2611-00-02-28_zpsab27f7ca.png"/></a>
<a href="http://s1235.photobucket.com/user/raven ... 5.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff4 ... 7f8355.png" border="0" alt=" photo EvochronMercenary2013-09-2611-00-31-60_zpsd47f8355.png"/></a>
<a href="http://s1235.photobucket.com/user/raven ... 6.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff4 ... c71006.png" border="0" alt=" photo EvochronMercenary2013-09-2611-00-39-20_zps37c71006.png"/></a>
And the reference photo:
<a href="http://s1235.photobucket.com/user/raven ... 0.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff4 ... 04e950.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo fury_cockpit1_zps0604e950.jpg"/></a>

The right-side monitor is just a placeholder for now, will change to something displaying useful information. Any suggestions for something you would like to have quickly available, like the map on the other side?

@AdamSelene: Don't worry, it's already on the to-do list. I'll be designing a new HUD to fit the cockpit as soon as modeling is done. Reference material is a bit scarce though...
