My ex-wife had started taking flying lessons about the time our divorce started and she got her license shortly before our divorce was final, later that same year.
Yesterday afternoon, she narrowly escaped injury in the aircraft she was piloting when she was forced to make an emergency landing in Southern Tennessee because of bad weather.
The National Transportation Safety Board officials have issued a preliminary determination citing pilot error contributing to the accident.
The absence of a post-crash fire was likely due to insufficient fuel on board. No one on the ground was injured.
The photograph below was taken at the scene showing the extent of damage to her aircraft.
She was very lucky!!

On a more serious note, This last spring a Captain and crew took off from a rural airport and quickly lost control of there aircraft due to high winds and careened into several occupied building. Fortunately no one was seriously injured in the crash. Witnesses in the builds explain a terribly loud noise as the building shuck and was quickly destroyed. One gentleman from Detroit explained it scared the crap out of him. Other victims were sped to a nearby hospital but release shortly afterwards with only minor injuries.

I hope those buildings where cleaned the day before the crash took place!......One reason I never occupied one of those buildings, I rather stay outdoors in the bushes!....
