1) I'm stuck in Mining Training ... I'm told to collect 5 units but the cargo bay will not hold that much
2) I need a keyboard command chart or something similar in order to know all the various keyboard commands ... I can't find that in help or anywhere.

1 - One cargo bay can hold 25 units of a material. 5 cargo -bays- can hold 5 X 25 units or 125 units total. Just make sure not to give up and stop mining the first time your cargo system discards an item that isn't compatible for storage.
2 - The keyboard quick reference image is included in the instructions that come with the game. You can open the keyboard.jpg file from the install folder or open it from within the game via Main Menu > Training > Close game and view instructions > To view the keyboard quick reference image, click here (it's near the top of the instructions).

Thanks - I found the keymap.
Regarding the cargo bay ... here's what happens ... I go to an asteroid and use the beam and hear the sounds of items being deposited in cargo bay (I only have 1 cargo bay in training mode). It gets to about two items then says it's full. So I go to Inventory and jettison everything and try again. I can only get to about two items every time.

That's about right for the mixed material you'll recover from asteroids. But again, what you need to watch for isn't how many, but -what- you are mining. The cargo bay won't be full at 2 units, but it will start sorting the material for you based on the first material type you recovered. Incompatible materials won't be stacked, so you want to keep at least one unit of the material type you do want, then keep mining until you have 25 units of it on board. The messages you are seeing are informing you that an incompatible material type was found and had to be discarded, not that your cargo bay is full. So just keep mining until you have 25 units. If you start to recover something you don't need, then you can discard it until you have one unit of the material you want. Then just keep mining until the bay is full with 25 units of that material and let the computer do the work of auto-sorting it for you.

I tried again with success based on your advice but still am a little confused. I used the beam and heard two clangs .. I had 2 units of plat ... it would not let me get more ... I got message "cargo space not avail for material class (plat) ... so I went to another asteroid and heard 1 clang ... then got the same message again ... so apparently it let me have 1 more plat ... but I thought I was out of space for that material class ... then I went to another asteroid and it must have had a different type of material class because I was able to get to 5 which was the required.

Which starting role did you select? I tested with both a new Mercenary profile (one cargo bay) and a new Miner profile (three cargo bays). The first mineral to be loaded was diamonds ... after which, metal and platinum were automatically discarded but diamonds continued to load until I reached the required five units. I only mined one asteroid (the closest ... a really small one).

Hi and welcome.
It's very simple. Once a mineral has started to
load into a cargo bay, that bay is "locked" to
that mineral until you discard that bay's contents.
All other minerals will be discarded automatically
from that bay. With several bay's installed you can
discard until desired mineral is beeing loaded
into the bay.
Hope it clears it up a bit for you.
