Just curious about what's going on with the Starwraith Franchise of games. It's been awhile since I peeked in here.
Are any of these games played in a persistent universe or are they instance based?
Is the flight model near or real physics or more of a fly by wire experience?
Are players exposed to the dangers of an open universe or protected in no combat zones and such.
Just curious. Looking for a new space sim to play.

Hello Pilots
You can download the "demo" ... which is the full game but with limited movement. If you buy the activation key, you can then experience all the things you listed: persistent universe, inertial physics, exposed to all the dangers of the universe ... plus cooperative multiplayer and the transfer of almost all you do between MP and single-player. Plus more (like planetfall and quests).

Hello Pilots
One $25 purchase has saved me at least $500 on buying game after game. I guess I got lucky and found the one that satisfies the most.
As far a physics go - they aren't hard core need NASA training accurate, but it's ALOT better than 'jet fighters in space' style flying. The inertial flight mode can be quite challenging.
In Single Player you will find systems in which the AI range from down-right nice to full-on bent on killing you, so there are some safe zones. In Multiplayer the same AI reputation system exists. Players are free to do what they want as far as it's kosher by the server rules. Most players ask to PvP, but there are a few - like myself - who do attack at their discretion and don't care about being randomly attacked.
Almost nobody attacks noobs, however, if the player is a veteran using a 'fresh' profile and it can be reasonably determined, they might get it.
It's pretty much do what you want on most servers, but most of us recognize the operative word - 'reasonably'.

Hello Pilots
Hello Jump! Please be welcome to the game-sim, and SW3DG community forum.
Marv and RC have it! It's a great game and community. Lots of really helpful folk abounding! Any of the posted game-server platforms listed in the Multi-Play menu, is considered a "persistent" universe, on that platform. Many independents and clans fly the multi-platform offerings.
Vice, the developer, really busts it up keeping it "real", game physics-wise. Which also includes how your ship handles in the environment. Even the AI/NPC pukes are "actively engaged". As in: THEY WILL HUNT YOU! There's a considered sand-box side of this universe, Solo Play and Multi-Play options included - like the basic IMG quest and such. No "lead-you-around-by-the-nose" stuff here. Although, there's a definite and definitive back-channel to this stuff. Then there's the meta-game, inclusive of CvC and PvP activities. Then, there's the mods and such, that become available as the various artists and craftsmen share their work with the community-at-large.
There are three (3) named war zones, and a conflict zone: Arvoch, Cerulean, and Sierra War Zones, and the Talison Conflict zone. But combat may be compelled or elective, depending on location and contract/mission offerings. Conflict/War Zones - Yes, always. Yes on system dependency, as well. Fair and Moderate systems have a reasonable balance (at times) of offered contracts. Good and Hostile systems are some what limited. (excluding the conflict/war zones, which are Good by default/design.) There are only three (3) Good systems, outside of the war zones. You may find all of them...eventually.

Your game "protections", per se, may arrive in the form of a station license, in a location of your choice. Or, you may build said station, and have a license there, automatically. You paid for it! Also, station licenses assist you in other ways. A 25% reduction in your purchases. And a 25% reduction in the "normal" fees paid per contract. You're working for the station in "that" system, after all. Having a station license also increases the protection level from AI/NPC craft and their machinations. The station, where licensed, will actively engage incoming missile traffic, on your behalf.
Been flying this universe for the last three years. Love the game! Tolerate the community. Coin Toss !

Welcome to the game and community. Like others, as a vet of the 1980's version of Elite on the old (ancient?
) BBC B, EM is the game I dreamed of - is we had access to supercomputers
.
It's an open sandbox, lots and lots to explore and discover and do with more than a hundred uncharted systems to find!

Hello Pilots
Better try the demo this game hook very fast so you'll know after only some hours if its fitting your gaming needs or not... after that i can say it's one of the cheapest game i got and it is certainly the one i play the longer time now... lots of freedom, lots of possible use of what is there, exploration, trade, fights, beautiful planets and space effects and ships... so..
even sometimes we have a new idea, someone write it down here, and the dev ad it to the game next (free) update
in case of problem dev and community helps you as much as possible, this is the customer care you ever dream about

Hello Pilots
Ah ok thanks.
I didn't even know this game was still going. Shawn used to send me news releases to post on my site but I think I stopped getting them about 4 years ago.
