Floating in Space

Post by TamaHawk »

After a fun multiplayer encounter a friendly blew my engines out to 10 by mistake we tried various things but had to log and now I am floating in space to the nearest station 3 sectors away in single player :D.

If anyone is interested in watching the progress I am streaming it live on my twitch page http://www.twitch.tv/tamahawk

I dont mean this to sound like an add just thought I'd share it :P. Well I'm off to bed guys heres hoping I see some sign of life in the morning!

Sorry but the video is offline! Either you got salvaged and your ship taken or you repaired and flew away! :D

Floating in Space

:D na I actually just shut the stream down after I logged it off this morning. Took me a little over 6 hours from point A to B (most of which I was sleeping lol ) traveling at a little over 250/ms. Thankfully I was present when my ship approached the marker since I would of just float on away being in Inertial mode and probably hit a rock :P ( I slept with outside awareness that night  ). I saved right on the edge of a sector in Saphire that has an outpost right next to a belt. Which I intentionally placed the marker at last night for fear of running into a rock had I attempted a closer approach. When I log back on after work today it will probably take me an hour or so since I'm about a half sector away from the station, all in all though I made it :).

I love the realism this game offers and I love playing within the bounds of that realism. When the guy who playfully hit me with the missile last night did, I made a decision on the spot to save trapping myself out there to deal with it rather then reverting my save. From this venture and the vastness that I have seen from the experience I have decided I am going to start a Captains Log and document the sectors I visit and things I find.

A questions on that though to the mods. Is it within TOS for me to make a thread dedicated to updating and sharing my log ?

Also thanks for checking it out Davek! sorry you didnt get to see the solitary straight line I was flying in deep space :P

 Use this section: http://www.starwraith.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?fid=23

 But if you have a mod to offer, put your announcement and any screenshots in the Mods section.

Hi TamaHawk - glad you're safe and sound! :D

Flying in straight lines works for me!! A while ago I spent a couple of weeks jumping in a straight line - gt to 250 000 sectors east of Sapphire before I had to go home for dinner! Actually I spent as much time refueling as flying :D

In fact it's quite interesting to see what you can find flying directly between two systems, rather than using the gates ;)

:)
