I've finally gotten around to doing the military frame

In the military download there is also an updated version of the EvoViper retexture I did and a MKII cannon sound. (BE WARNED: there is only one texture for military ships so you might see some odd looking npc ships out there

)

Replacing a military ship would make the most sense but in my game I don't have access to millitary ships yet

, or the funds to buy one, so I wouldn't be able to test it. I need to get some quality game time in.

Don't expect to do the IMG Quest as a military pilot, though. Still, the new screenie in the first post is looking good. And I think there's a cockpit to go along with your ship ... somewhere. (Check the Mods section.)

I tried a basestar a couple years back but the size ( to maintain proper scale ) was much larger than the hard coded hit boxes.
you and other ships would fly right thru the outer portions of the model.

a battlestar would suffer the same problem.

it should work fine as a mil ship
just rename the model and texture files.

I put the wrong hud folder in the military rar... because i'm an idiot. There will be missing textures. It's fixed now.

Probably not. Civilian frames are designed so you can swap out wings and engines, etc. Making them more difficult to mod.

If you want to pursue this, you'll have to work the sliders in the shipyard construction menus for each of the five components, in order to hide or disguise/meld the frame appearance. I did it with Vipers offering of the SX3 frame, whilst plugged in to the Legacy civ frame. All it was, was a matter of changing/renaming the file names for the "target" frame, then moving things around until the esthetics chime sounded. Check the Merc's Customizing Kit for the particulars on frame numbers.

Just a heads up . . .

The .rar you download for Sparrowjuice's original ship is a .exe installer. Run it and FileFactory is very very persistent in trying to install a lot of toolbars, change your homepage etc.

If you are careful and decline a handful of attempts to install spyware(?) you finally do get to download Sparrowjuice's actual files!
