Windows 7 Home Premium on a HP gaming portable. Starport 6 uses the same OS, but it's on an Acer Desktop.

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
----------------------------------
Please note that using the supplied virtual machine for gaming does work but presents massive performance hurdles that are not easily resolved by simply supplying more resources to the virtual machine.

I am using 12gb of RAM which is probably much higher than average. Regardless I did have to alter the executable with the instructions supplied in one of the troubleshooting threads. I had to make it bind to memory partitions greater than 2gb to play reliably. I then had to make it large address aware in order to play with mods reliably.

Also note that I have the program set for Windows XP SP3 compatibility and run as administrator checked. With all of these steps combined I was able to play without abnormal operations or unexpected crashes.

I really hope that the expansion supplies an executable with all of these memory related fixes already in place.

Windows 8 Pro 64 bit works great. This game runs smoothly using this operating system without any special hoops to jump through. My PC is a 2006 Gateway and I have played this game using this PC using three different operating systems:

1. XP
2. Windows 7 Home 64 bit
3. Windows 8 Pro
4. Windows 8.1 Pro Preview 1

All four windows operating systems run and play this game perfectly.
My PC is a 7 year old Gateway GT5220. The only thing I did special is go from an AMD 2.1 dual core to an AMD 3.1 dual core (bought the chip on ebay for $15.00 and installed it myself) with an ATI 6450 graphics card.

Windows 7 Enterprise 64-Bit - works like a charm :)
