I haven't seen [FF] pilots on EM doing anything clan related in a long time. 'Tis it a possibility that the "biggest and best" clan in the Evoverse has fallen apart?

We play multiple games together as a clan, so in theory EM could be dead and FF will still be alive.

The existence of FF outside of the game is like caring about what is happening outside of the observable Universe... it doesn't matter or apply to any here
Got to say it's been a while since I've seen any FF activity on a server myself.

I appreciate the PVP with the FF members in Olympus (server). I respect any pilot who isn't deterred by perishing again and again; or as one pilot quipped, not "rage quitting". I typically don't strike without warning, but with the un-called for "greetings" I've received on occasion, by unfamiliar players, it seemed appropriate to fire indiscriminately and at will; not to mention the silly garble some pilots spout before combat often hastens their demise. With the plethora of game profiles every player seems to have its the logical thing to do. Its all in good fun though. I guarantee you'll go out in a blaze of glory (even though X will be the one seeing the blaze and getting the glory
).

Well, this is what keeps the Freedom fighters together. While other clans are just clans in EM, so they fall apart as people go on with their lives. This is what happened to clans like [LL] and [SW] and many others. From post: 161926, Topic: tid=8913, author=Austin wrote:The existence of FF outside of the game is like caring about what is happening outside of the observable Universe... it doesn't matter or apply to any here

The freedom fighters will not fall apart because we're friends. We talk to eachother even when we don't play EM.
Whenever the Freedom Fighters get the opportunity to do fun stuff in EM, we will be there.

Since you obviously didn't read my post about the true Veterans of this game, you missed the part that they keep together like family. Just because they might not be in-game doesn't mean they don't still talk to each other. From post: 161937, Topic: tid=8913, author=-splosives- wrote:Well, this is what keeps the Freedom fighters together. So [FF] are friends and are still a clan? That may be, but that still doesn't answer to the main point. In EM, the Freedom Fighters are dying - if not dead.
As for [SW] falling apart because they aren't friends... that is not true. As I see it, [SW] fell apart because pilots had to take care of real life and some new clan that were "friends to each other" attacked while the pilot who only did contracts and exploration was on. Then instead of apologizing for it like I did when I tried the same thing, they just said "too bad, you lose." Would those people be fun for you to fly with splosives?
[LL] also fell apart because so many of its Veteran pilots had to deal with reality - newer pilots never tend to stick around for long ... also one of the reasons I'm not surprised that, in EM, [FF] is at its current situation. I guess [FF] pilots never have to take a break from gaming because of reality? That is actually kinda sad. Or maybe as friends to each other, you dispose of those friends who can't game for an extended period of time and tell 'em that you don't want to hear their drama? I would guess that drama is something that ya'll hate since you didn't like the "drama" that went on in my own thread, "Random Thoughts from a slightly crazy teenage girl" - and you didn't even have to read that.
Just a couple of thoughts that I had... hope I don't upset ya'll... I would like some answers though.

I can't speak for all people in this clan, but gaming for me is like a hobby. I practice my hobbies alongside all the other stuff I do.
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that we're fairly young of age compared to those veteran clans. We don't have wives and kids that hold us back (except for flash)
[FF] is not dead, we're just waiting for people like you to challenge us again. Give us a reason to start practicing our skills again, and we'll be on the game immediately.
For now there's just nothing interesting going on for us. That's why we're on stand by mode.

You can do the same to us, we don't care, that's what war is all about.
The fact that you apologized means you lost. If people get upset with you for doing thing in a game, that's their problem, not yours.

I was there on the TeamSpeak as a member of [LL] (allied with FF) at the time of the [SW] debacle.
I'll try to relate as fairly as I can my impression of the events -
[FF] command initiated a war with [SW] under the impression that [SW] was a clan that still operated in force. The intent WAS to bring veteran members of [SW] back into the game, as they were viewed at the time to be the only non-allied clan that could create a full-scale clan war environment.
When it was discovered that [SW] had few regularly active members and Busch had a chosen style of maintenance, exploring, and shunned PvP fighting, [FF] realized that the whole thing was quite the mess.
However, no apology or offer to reset the territory was given, and in spite of [FF]'s opening gambit to create a clan war being botched, [FF] instead adopted a policy of "You will eat it, and like it."
I think mainly this was due to the feeling that if one is going to be in a clan then they should be prepared to defend the territories of that clan in battle.
The fact is however, that the game is NOT based on clan war. The game is based on Sandbox style of play. Players can choose to create clans that do not 'battle'.
Nearly a year later I created a clan (that never flew) on the pretense of "You will eat it, and like it.". I did speak with [FF] members when I announced the clan, and some of them were not happy about it. Cargo even went so far as to say that "There was nothing new, or convention challenging, to my concept.".
He was right. I came to a realization since then that, the clan I was going to create - [EMC] - was really only trying to 1up [FF] at their own game.
Hence, [EMC] fizzled like wet fireworks.
Now the only clan/faction that could battle [FF] in force is [X]. But, [X] is based on an overall concept of guerilla attacks, harassment raids on territories, and only building disposable outposts instead of fully capturing territory.
As you can see [X] is not the kind of clan/faction that would provide an opponent like [FF] the kind of territorial war they were built for.
Whereas [X] has no care or concern about which clan they press buttons with, I can see how [FF] is losing interest without a solid, organized, decently trained clan or three to create not only a potential for battles but, a somewhat political environment between enough clans to make the quadrant map % flags mean something again.
That said, a lot of clans that where run by members of [FF] became 'storefronts' for ultimately recruiting players into the ranks of [FF].
I can only wonder what the factor was that kept them from breaking free completely and leading their own clans, instead of holding a 'dual citizenship' with [FF].
I would say 'loyalty' to [FF] was no more than 40% of it, so what was the rest? ...................

Yes, there were clans that were created by members of both [FF] and [LL], many of which contained largely members of [FF] and [LL]. Perhaps which clans were led by whom, and who among [FF] and [LL] had membership is all a matter of plausible deniability now, but it DID happen on a fairly large scale.
Ok admitting the term 'fairly large' may be hyperbolizing the situation a bit, but it did happen nonetheless.

If you're referring to the mercenary elite, that was founded by an [LL] member. They asked [FF] members to join (including myself) but we all declined.

With an active/inactive member list of 40+ people, I'd say it's pretty slim chances (with a community this size) that ALL of them have been recruited directly through the 'front door'.
I'm not interested in trying to give an oral history of every alias I've ever seen in MP and which ones I've been able to track back to their original call sign.
Except [M]r. Fancypants - you're officially unofficial [FF] member in [M]ercenary Elite. (While it still existed).
I've said all I need to say. I'm off the thread now, your future responses will be ignored.

The fact that [FF] and [M] actually fought eachother disproves the rubbery conspiracy theory of that chicken.
I admit I had an [M] profile. Many of us did, but that does not mean we were in their clan, nor that it was founded by us. I also have an [LL] profile called [LL] Explosus, but I was never part of the clan either.
I actually never used that [M] profile, and I don't think anyone of [FF] did. Correct me if I'm wrong.
