Hey all!
What, if any, is the limit to the amount of these you can build in the Evoverse?

Quick player built Trade Stations question
Hi and welcome.
50 stations / system.
You also must build within the +/-50k x +/-50k x +/-50k box of the center of the sector.
There has to be at least 1 empty sector between Trade Stations in all directions.
Constructor station, Research station, Energy station and Ore processors scan be build in the same sector as a Trade Station.
So, the limit of how many stations you can build depends on how many systems there are ... and there are plenty of those around!;)

Your most welcome.
Keep in mind that player build stations can be destroyed. Good to know if you're playing in MP!:P

Quick player built Trade Stations question
Hmm ... is it just other players that can destroy them, or can hostile NPCs do it as well? For example, if I built one in Thuban, would it last more than 10 seconds?
All I'm wanting to do at the moment is set some up as deep space stations in between some of the uncharted systems, for refuelling and repairs, stuff like that. I didn't want to get a couple of weeks into it then get a "You have reached the 20 Trade Station limit!" or whatever. But yeah, 50 per system would be ample for that.

That should not be any problems, unless (in MP) it is maxed out (50 stations) already.
Only human players can destroy stations, not NPC's.
Normally there are plenty of room to build in the uncharted systems. You'll get a warning if it's not
possible to build. If you're going deep space traveling, I recommend bringing a deploy constructor as well.
That way you can refuel anywhere.
You can destroy your own stations as well after you've refueled if you want. Just bring along some Station Detonators.

The "deployed" stations will self-destruct, once you leave the sector where "deployed". The "built" stations won't, and would require a station detonator to remove (or the "gentle" attention of the server op).

Yeah, I always carry a deploy constructor when exploring deep space. One of the reasons for the trade stations I'll be building is so that I don't have to sit in a fuel processor for 15 minutes while waiting to refuel.
I spent a few weeks last summer flying east non-stop just to see how far I could go. Hit an invisible barrier in the end, which I assume was the edge of the Evoverse. I didn't know about deployed stations automatically self destructing back then, so I used to manually scuttle them each time, before flying off. Always saved my game first as well, because I was nervous that the explosion would destroy my ship as well
Another thing, which I only found out about last night, was that boosting energy to weapons speeds up the refueling process! Wish I'd known that last year. All those times I had to wait about 20 minutes to fill up my 800 fuel tank, and I could have saved a third of the time with each stop. Doh
Oh well, live and learn. Thanks for the advice and tips!

Welcome to the game!
How far out was the barrier?
There's also a limit beyond which you can't Build a station (although no-one's found a limit for Deploying them!)

I went 250 000 sectors East of Sapphire out and didn't hit a barrier (though that was pre-expansion!). Maars used his magic crystal and went over 300K out and didn't mention one. From post: 161907, Topic: tid=10817, author=Barberetti wrote: I spent a few weeks last summer flying east non-stop just to see how far I could go. Quick player built Trade Stations question
Hi Austin,
I deleted the saves when the expansion hit, so this is going from memory. I had the idea for it one morning last summer. It usually takes me about an hour to get ready to go out, so I figured why not point my ship in a direction and just leave it jumping and refuelling during that hour, while I'm having breakfast etc. So I decided on East, and started from Lost Rucker.
After a couple of weeks (and further than the location next to my name I think) I hit an invisible barrier. I figured what the hell, and decided to see how far down it went. After travelling South for a while I found that the barrier extended East some more, so I travelled East again then hit the barrier again. This South then East travelling took place over the course of a few mornings if I remember correctly.
And that's about it. I think I got sidetracked into other stuff at the time, and never got around to exploring that region further.
Sorry it wasn't more interesting
Edit: @DaveK - I'm pretty sure I didn't go that far out, but I was lower than that.
