...I thought I was done with computer games! Gaming days over, bumbling along with a low spec lightweight laptop.

Then I found the demo for EM.

Then I installed it.

Oh my goodness: it is exactly what I've been waiting for as far as gaming goes for the last twenty years.

Then I realised I couldn't run the thing with any real frame-rate on my little business laptop.

So, I had to (I HAD TO!) order an Alienware 14X R3 laptop. The first thing that will be installed when it arrives will be a paid version of EM. The wait is excruciating. Still 3 days away.

Judging by the forum posts, I won't be disappointed.

No, you will not be disappointed. It is a great game and Vice has done wonders with it
by listening to players requests for many years.

I stumbled upon this game about 3 years ago and I'm stuck in MP LOL!
My wife has to call me on my com radio to get hold of me ROFLMAO!:P

Hi Skraps, welcome to the forum and hope to see you out there when you are ready!......LOL......after Elite I was looking for another like Space Sim for a long time, then Free Lancer came out I finished the Story line of Free Lancer and started to look for my next like Space Sim. Some years later I found Starwraiths Renegades and was hooked again, followed by Starwraiths Legends, Mercenary, Arvoch Alliance and Mercenary Expansion!.......

Thanks for the welcome, fellow space traders (or mercenaries, or contractors. Not pirates, though - I prefer running peaceful trade runs until I get big enough weapons!)

No matter how many times I hit refresh on the Dell website order status, the laptop is no closer than Friday!

I'll jump in MP when I get some trade runs and pirate kills under my belt...

I'll stop taking up forum space until then!

I can feel your frustration mate LOL!

Don't hesitate to jump on MP right away. Very friendly space out there.

You will learn much faster and it's more fun to do contracts together with other pilots. (All participating pilots gets paid/rewarded for doing contracts in the same sector).

To learn combat you can attach yourself to a more experienced pilot and be his/her gunner. Fire away your guns or just enjoy the ride!;)
