I thought we had a thread about music somewhere, but can't find it so started a new one. :P

Just post any music you like listening to here to share it with the community.

==============================================================

I have a very broad taste myself, but mainly I like trance, hardstyle, hip hop, R&B and pop music.
Pop music for everyday listening, hip hop and R&N for chilling out, and trance and hard style if I wanna let loose.

If I had to go with one single style, I'd say hardstyle, for its incredibly energy and awesome beats that remind me of the rave era of the 90's (I'm 32, the 90's were my wild years lol).
Also, I love the really decent vocals you here more and more nowadays in the trance and hardstyle scene.

A couple of my all-time favorite artists are:
- Armin van Buuren
- Ferry Corsten
- David Ghuetta
- really a whole range of trance / hardstyle dj's
- Rihanna (and her music ain't bad either :P )
- P!nk (she's like a Rebel among music artists :P )
- Adele (if you don't like her music you're probably missing a gene or two)
- One Republic
- The Script
- Nate Dog (good ol' times)
- Moby

And a whole lot more, but those are the ones that spring to mind. As I said, broad taste.

A couple of my current favorites:

Armin van Buuren - Waiting for the Night (awesome positive energy)
WildStylez Feat. Niels Geuzebroek- Year of Summer (love that beat...!)
David Guetta Feat. Sia - She Wolf (wow what an awesome vocals)
Klangkarussell - Sonnentanz (awesome track to chill out)
Wankelmut & Emma-Louise - My Head is a Jungle (same story)

But the absolute B.O.M.B. at the moment for me is Code Black performing Brighter Day. The awesome! beat, great vocals and overall energy in that song are absolutely unbelievable and I just go ballistic each time I listen to it.
Here it is:
Code Black - Brighter Day

Could HTML please be enabled on the 'General Discussion' section, so we can post Youtube vids? That'd be awesomeness.

But then again, this one also strikes a nerve (in a good sense) with me:

Labrinth feat. Emeli Sandé - Beneath Your Beautiful

That's just beautiful.

I like pretty much everything Boston has ever done (srsly, do yourself a favor and listen to this one. one of the best albums ever made, hands down https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLoFGvnrivM)
Dream Theater is tied for first place with Boston for me.

I'm mostly into Rock/Hard Rock/Metal but I also dab in drum and bass and classic trance (the really melodic stuff at least).
I also have a serious taste for classical music, and im starting to get into opera a bit.

I love metal, rock and roll, country, R&B, soul, jazz and a lot of classics. Truth be told The Beatles are the best band to ever be.

Boston is awesome! Would definitely have to be my second favorite pick! Legend has it that God wrote "More Than A Feeling" and passed it down to man.

Nowadays, Adele, though is my favorite singer. The woman has the voice of an angel. She melts me like butter whenever I hear her.

Labrinth feat. Emeli Sandé - Beneath Your Beautiful
Wow, thanks Viper, that was a beautiful song! Glad I listened to it!

How many musicians do you know who lived 200-300 years ago? I wonder who will be remembered from our time when the same amount of time passes. I think maybe just the Beatles, maybe Pink Floyd. Some people say Elvis but he's almost forgotten already. Maybe Frank Sinatra. His music will be played at weddings for a long time to come.

If you are able to pick one band to be your absolute favourite, I think you haven't listened to enough music yet.

I can't give one single genre of music I like, because I can't think of a single genre where more than 10% is actually good.

Old Blue Eyes was in a lot of classic films. Ergo he will probably be known as an actor who could sing more than a singer who could act.

But that is where opinions come in, which is the case of this thread.

I've been listening to The Beatles since before I can remember, and to me they are the greatest, though I do enjoy a very wide variety of music.

Perhaps some people are more decisive in what they like and can actually name bands and genres?

Exactly. That was also my opinion.

I don't believe there's anyone that likes ALL music of one single genre. There's just too much bad music out there.

That is most definitely true. Obvious too, if you consider how many different songs are produced within any one particular genre, and that no two songs are alike.
Too much bad music? That's debatable. What would be bad for you, will be good to someone else. And looking at it from the optimistic side: I think I can pretty much say there is probably at least one song I like from each genre. Even though I don't like that genre in general. Which probably goes for most of us.

Here's a song that technically considered is probably poorly written. And although maybe the vocals are not too bad, the lyrics are repetitive and quite shallow. Not a very impressive song from any perspective. Still, I find it to be one of those songs with a very nice vibe to it, especially the chorus. After listening to it a few times it kinda grows on you and even though I didn't like it the first time, I do now.

Then again, it's one of those 'one day flies' which score well as a hit before never being heard from again. Enjoy it while it lasts lol.

Hola.

I like to compare music with feelings and songs that bring back memories of how I felt on occasion.

For example when i discover Evochron mercenary sounds like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CgbtC4X ... be&t=4m30s

When i discovered my first uncharted system like this: http://youtu.be/5moo0RkjIZk?t=55s

i do not know why I do this, but always relate situations with music.

When i get stressed I sound like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tia28IWM8Ec

but when something goes good it's like ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zs79OA3Lvrg

Jacob de Haan is a GREAT composer :)
