Hi there,
I purchased EM yesterday and really am enjoying it. I managed to earn over a million and bought the Raven. I thought I was in a position to start exploring...
I found a little red dot on the map and decided to have a look. When I jumped in, it stuttered so I thought I was going to lose connection or something, so I saved it. I then jumped close to what I think is a Sun. Now when I start up, I am within the pull of a sun's gravity and no energy. Then the Sun kills me without damaging my shields.
I cannot jump out or use the afterburners to escape the gravity - I die before my energy goes up high enough.
I don't want to restart as I have devoted quite a lot of time and I really cannot be bothered to do it all over again...
Is there any way I can restart somewhere safe? Please help me!
Thanks,
Jimsvolle

You can probably still escape. When you first spawn from the main menu, your energy should be full. So you should be able to then immediately jump away to safety as long as two conditions apply:
- There aren't any objects you will collide with near coordinates 0,0,0 in the same sector.
- Your ship has enough hull armor left to survive the time it takes to engage the jump drive and escape.
Respawning after you've launched the first time from the main menu will result in a delay of energy recharging, so you'll want to try it immediately the first time you spawn.

I think Jimsvolles ship was damaged when he saved, so when trying to jump out of the stars gravity well, it is destroyed before the jump drive can fully engage. Alt F2 might be an option after a re-launch of the game and on singleplayer, i heard that multiplayer has a small delay and being on singleplayer might give more time to jump.
I might be wrong but i think the ship is too far into the gravity well to be able to thrust out with the afterburner.
I introduced Jimsvolle to the game just a little while ago, glad hes enjoying it, and thanks for the reply Vice.

Hi everyone.
Thanks for getting back to me. I am afraid jk-77 is right. My ship lasts less than a second before destruction. Because I had just jumped in, my energy was nothing and I was destroyed before it had any time to recharge.
Is there a way to be reset back at base?
I will definately steer clear of red anomalies next time...
Thanks
