Mainly because evidence indicates whoever attacked my territory while I was offline using my own alias, was sending me a message. That message being - "I know who you are no matter what tag you use".
If that's the case then that player has access to IP identifying software. There was no other way they could have known it was me.
If that's the case then, players who won't resort to this method will find it nearly impossible to keep character profiles separated if just one of those characters runs on the bad side of an IP reading player.
Basically, if a clandestine war of how to track and or mask IPs and aliases in-game gets kicked off, it's going to totally ruin it for everyone who doesn't have the time, patience, or slimy ethics it takes to play that way.
It's happened in quite a few other online games during their heyday. It would be a real shame to see it happen here.
RC, the pilot who used the not so rare tag "+", had a mid rank profile and apologized several times for his poor English. When I asked him why the + sign for a name he replied "His clan wants this quadrant and he feared reprisal from the other clans", he also stated that "I wouldn't understand because Americans know nothing of sharing". He got maybe 4 stations while I was there before logging off and though I don't know how many he got before I logged in, I doubt the damage is too severe.

not the server admin is highly unlikely if not outright impossible.
Besides this, I think this all got started by my
ILoveMyKB pilot profile but I assure you that name is only to profess my love for my Saitek Keyboard, not you kb.
