Hi,
Not sure if Vice knows about this, is it's an agreed upon thing or not so forgive me if it's all ok....
But whilest browsing the net for games to play I stumbled across a screenshot of Pirate Galaxy and thought, I'm sure I've played that as I recognise some of the graphics.
Then I remembered where and googled evochron to make sure, and yes...the space station in the PG screenshots are identical to Evochrons.
This is the PG space station...
Pirate Galaxy screenshot
which as you will know, looks exactly like this...
Evochron space station
Again, sorry if this is all legit....just as a designer myself, I hate it if people steal others work.
Thought it looked familiar!!!

It's ok, they simply licensed the same base models from the same artist.

Pirate Galaxy is more of an arcade game, complete with power-up ball and click-to-move maneuvering.

Yeah, I did look at some youtube videos of PG but not my sort of game really, I'll stick to Evochron
Still haven't jumped onto the multiplayer servers yet, just flying around saphire and surrounding systems trying to get enough credits together to get a half decent ship so I will survive further out.

Multiplayer is a good place to get answers to your questions. It's also the only place where you can get help if you find yourself stranded in space.

I will jump on multiplayer soon as space is a lonely place, not sure which server yet though.
I've run through the first few IMG quests, done a ton of mining in saphire and upgraded my ship frame a few times (after a quick run to Olypmus) and got the cannon relay, shield system ect.
I seriously need to practice some combat though as at the moment I still kind of play like a typical flight sim which obviously doesn't work, so trying to reprogram my brain to account for the newtonian physics and how to use them. At the moment I am getting destroyed in anything more than a 1v1, but it does make each kill more satisfying.

What I tend to do, is point myself at the incoming enemy then switch off IDS, and set my drift ever so slightly to the left or right, as well as up / down. Also keep my speed below 1500. That will let you take passing shots at them, as well as do a 180 and turn yourself around with the afterburner.
A lot times I drift at slow speed, and handle my directional changes with the afterburner. It's more brute force than efficient, but it helps me fly at slow speed with the benefits of Inertial flight, and make quick corrections to pursue.
I'd probably be better at Inertial combat if I bothered to rebind my keys.... but I'm lazy and in multiplayer combat works out OK.
