My motor explode allways

I need help because when I try and choose a coordinate jump F2 giving my engine explodes. this started happening after I tried to enter the atmosphere at a high speed with autopilot and now I can no longer use F2

Even if you jump into a space with no station, planets, etc around you?

Galactus, welcome to the forum. Can you post a screen shot taken just before trying to use f2? Do you get any messages when you push f2? What game and version do you have?:)
Did you turn OFF the auto pilot now?

check your nav point.
where are you jumping to ?
your nav point maybee on a planet.
when you jump, you go boom.

also, if you try to jump from planet surface, you go boom

Yep, using warp engines in atmosphere is a bad idea. It's basically the same thing as an asteroid entering the atmosphere at ridiculous speed -> it burns. You're basically doing the same thing but in opposite direction. Friction, man, literally uncool

edit:
just fly out of the atmosphere until the onboard computer says "switching avionics to space mode" or something, then I think you're out of the atmosphere and can warp relatively safely again.

Thanks for the replies. I found out later that was pressing f2 while flying through the atmosphere and therefore my ship exploded.
