You can edit the nav log and put copies of each type in folders, manually. You can then label each folder appropriately and use JSGME to load the one you need.

I have a copy but need to check the "EULA" (or whatever it's called) to see if I can distribute it. Btw, did you try the SubSim link?

Yup, seems like the site of the author has gone down and I too have my copy installed but no backup of the installer.
Best regards

I'm sure this has probably been mentioned before, after 50+ pages of postings..
But the number one thing I'd like to see improved is adding a linear single-player aspect (or campaign mode) to the game. Evochron as a series seems to have a reasonably rich and assumingly thought-out backstory, and History of "recent events". It would be really nice to have more than a Sandbox to play in.

Are you asking about the quest? If so, the answer can quickly be found via the Search option. From post: 157540, Topic: tid=9376, author=Zach wrote:I'm sure this has probably been mentioned before, after 50+ pages of postings..

The "linear single-player" option? It's been part of the game since before Legends.

..Now you're just mincing words. From post: 157575, Topic: tid=9376, author=Marvin wrote:The "linear single-player" option? It's been part of the game since before Legends.
Yeah we have the IMG "quests". But there could be so much more there than there was... So much wasted potential.
It's pretty clear I was talking about a real fleshed out story line, with clearly laid out / scripted missions, special events, characters you interact with on multiple ocassions, etc..
Telling a real story. It's not such a bad thing after all. Ecvochron is undoubtedly a mature IP at this point. How many iterations of fight-trade-explore can you go through before that aspect can afford to be given a little less attention for a change?
Sure its all speculation, because I'm not Vice and I don't know what his goals are for the Evochron series, or the Universe he created for it.
But I'm taking a leap of faith that based on the existence of SOME kind of history and backstory / current events created for the game, that a more including a more "traditional" story-mode for the game is something he would like to do one day. And I could be totally wrong.
All I'm saying is, there are only so many times I can jump into a system, enter the trade station, buy/sell some items or take a contract to shoot something, find something, etc. Before I begin to question my interest.
Don't misunderstand what I am saying though. I like these kinds of activities too! I just prefer to be at the leisure to do them during a story-break, or something. It helps break things up to not feel as "linear" as simply playing thru some missions back to back.
I bought the game because I wanted to support a small developer who is keeping the Space combat/trading genre alive. But I also grew up during a period where the big houses still paid attention to that, and they came with stories that were epic and fun to experience.
Maybe it is some sick irony that now that the genre is commercially "dead", you can only find niche products, that have the freedom of Trading/Exploration/Random Combat that the big titles always lacked - with the trade off that there is no epic story. Not even a small story, it would seem.
Oh well, I should probably stop. I could go on for paragraphs about this. I honestly don't think its too much to ask, and while I recognize the current community here may not want it as a priority; I am now part of that community too. I also think it would help grow the community (and maybe some people fear the change that would entail, I don't know.. I'd probably feel threatened too).
I'll put my money where my mouth is, and just offer, if this is a case of manpower vs time vs goals. I'd try to help out Vice with this aspect if he asked. I'm sure there are probably better writers than I out there, but I do have experience in writing (fantasy / non-fiction) and if I could help him in any way I would do my best.
That's all I can offer. In the mean time, I'll still be playing in the world that was created for me.

That mobile home should also come with a last resort "self-destruct meltdown" option for the nuclear reactor

Hey Zach.
Me and some fellow pilots are working on a huge
Quest/Story right now.
It's not finished so I can't give you a release
date yet, but I think you'll like it.

That's good to hear. If you would like me to proof/edit anything let me know.
I will start checking in how to play custom quests, etc.. That won't mess up multiplayer will it? Speaking of which.. are there any components that would allow people to team up during the Quest / Story? That might be fun (like a Pick up group, not required, but anyone can join up for a while if they wanted).

The only part of the any quest which cannot be done in MP is the race. Everything else can be done in MP and anyone who wants can help. Even if your helpers aren't doing the quest ... or, if they are, aren't at the same point. Denny and I did both the default quest and the Quest for Peace together ... only one participant needs to accept the IMG contract ... both (or all) get credit.

We need toggle-able flashlights for the front of our ships, or maybe on terrain walkers only to further entice people to try them!!!!

Being able to explore dark sides of the planets would be really fun, though... and it'd look super cool! Our cannons cause light on the surface anyways, why not a button to make it persistent?
