Loading sreen image corruption

When I place the chattext.dat file in the hud folder, I get a corrupted/fragmented loading screen image after hitting launch.


I did a clean reinstall. No Fix.

The issue is the chattext.dat. When it is removed from the hud folder the loading corruption goes away.

How do I fix?

You may have to edit the file to put the chat box more to the right.

What game version are you using?

I think raven was having a similar problem at one time? can we see a screenshot?

Some systems may have trouble rendering the multiple cameras necessary to support the separate/dedicated surface used for the adjustable text option, at least at certain points in the game. Most systems probably won't encounter such an issue, but some with limited/shared resources (ie Intel display systems) or those that may have driver issues might encounter something like this.

As far as I can tell, there are no other problems associated with this.

And, each time I load, the corruption is slightly different. And once in a while there is no corruption.


It is a little annoying, but I can live with it for now.
