I Started the new Quest that SeeJay had been working on and I have to agree with some of the pilots saying the Race is to hard depending on their systems FPS.From post: 156759, Topic: tid=10304, author=Marvin wrote:From post: 156756, Topic: tid=10304, author=KingGladiator wrote:Best yet if you miss a SINGLE ring, youre done for. Dont even think of trying to catch up.Fly directly to the finish line and blow the Navy AI away as he flies thru the last box. You won't win, but you'll feel alot better about losing.
I was flying the Legacy Civi Frame against a Miner in a Raven Frame in SP when I got to the second mission the Race!
1st try failed, as soon as I go over 950 my ship starts sliding out of control and there is no way for me to stay in the tubes even using afterburners to compensate while my oponent with the same agility of 70 flies past me at a speed of 1174.
2nd try same thing, 3rd try same thing. Now I am realy mad at the Pilot I'm flying against so I open fire and form on the pilot but my shots seem to keep missing him and my ship keeps sliding out of control and I can not keep up with the pilot to shoot him down, than I realise my MDTS was of so I turn it on and after a long chase I finnaly destroyed him as Marvin suggested...LOL...
4th try, Now I'm racing against a Navy Pilot in a Pulsar Civi Frame. I fail again keep sliding out of control at 900 speed in the Legacy Frame.
5th try, I'm back at Racing a Navy Pilot in a Raven Frame.
I decide to take His engines down, I stop when his engines has 90% damage and he keeps on sliding through the tube like nothing has happened to his engines! Now I'm realy realy mad and kill the bastard and fail again!....LOL.....
6th try, I decide to damage his Engines and Navigation systems.
Navigation at 9%, engines at 15% and he is still sliding through the rings probably on inertia with out problems...while I slide out of the rings trying to keep up with him to damage his engines and Nav system! Of course I fail again.....
7th try. For some reason I decide to check my frame rate and it is recording 300-350 FPS! in SP. While in MP I ussualy only get between 100-150! And now I wonder if the frame rate is a possible cause for the difficulty some people are experiencing like me with the race. I finished the Race on the 7th try but to say how on this thread would be like a Spoiler but there are some clues in this post. I do not know if this was the intention of this mission that you find the solution I did, or that it is the high frame rate that is causing the problem of not being able to complete the race as is because of the sliding out of control at high frame rates. This might be worth looking into!......
