trade bug with stacks of same item

Post by oberlerchner123 »

I was doing some mining in single player and wanted to trade a stack of 5 Diamonds to another miner, so I could load up more Platinum.
I added the 5 Diamonds to the trade and he accepted.
But the stack of 25 Diamonds disappeared instead, while the 5 were left in my inventory.
I have had this happen twice now.

Edit: Does not seam to be quest related.

I was doing a mine 25 Diamonds contract at the same time, I'm not a 100% sure if it is related.
I'll post more info should it happen again.
LOL, I do not think this is a bug!

This was a real rip off, you have been scammed by ruthless Evochron scumbags!.....

Do not trade with any ship if you have anything in your cargo bays. Only trade and negotiate with empty cargo bays!....;):P:cool:

My pilot couldn't be so stupid as to eject the wrong amount from the ship?
I just had it happen again btw while picking up loot, so it is not related to the mining quest.

Either way, they are a cloud of space debris now anyway. ;)

Edited for clarity

For Ship to Ship trade you do not have to eject cargo. Of course ruthless scumbags will gladly take your Cargo of Diamonds when ejected!.....;):P

You dont seam to understand what I mean.
I selected them, pressed F4, added 5 Diamonds.
The trade said 5 items on my side.
Then after accept the game deleted the contents of the wrong cargo bay.

What I ment is that they couldn't really rip me off, since my pilot wouldn't be so stupid as to eject the wrong cargo, no?
Unless he's plain stupid, but that isn't very immersive.

The "it's not a bug it's a feature excuse" doesn't do it for me. Sorry. :P

Did you follow the procedure outlined here?
TRADING

1. Ship-To-Ship Trade Console - OPEN (F4)
2. Trade Link Accepted - CHECK
3. Items To Offer - SELECT
  • a. Credits - AS REQUIRED
    • "Enter Amount" Window - INPUT PAYOUT
Correct Amount Offered - PRESS ENTER
    b. Item - SELECT FROM CARGO BAY
4. Items Being Offered - SELECT
  • a. Credits - AS REQUIRED
    • "Enter Amount" Window - INPUT PAYOUT
Correct Amount Offered - PRESS ENTER
    b. Item - SELECT FROM CARGO BAY
5. Submit Button - SELECT
If so, you'll notice that you don't "jettison" anything. The term "jettison" is used when delivering cargo to a waiting capital ship.

Yes.

I never clicked "jettison" or clicked on those items in the inventory menu.
All I said is that Maarschalk's in universe defense for this bug doesn't make sense, since how would the other pilot steal the items out of my cargobay without me dropping them first.
I know you do not actually drop them, as the trade is automated through the Trade Console (F4 button).

Ok before even more confusion pops up, here step by step:

I had:

Anti-25
Plat-25
Diam-25
Diam-5

I selected friendly ship, pressed F4, "What kind of deal did you have in mind?"-Trade Console pops up
Clicked on Diam-5.
Diamond Units x 5 shows up at the bottom left, other pilot makes a $ offer appropriate for 5 Diamonds.
I click Submit.
"Pleasure doing business with you."

And now I have:

Anti-25
Plat-25

Diam-5

Maybe I should just FRAPS it and upload it to youtube...

It sounds like a bug, I'll be looking into and it will have it fixed for the next update if it is.

Good to hear, thanks!

I went ahead and reproduced it quickly.
I don't think I need to upload it to youtube but I saved a few screencaps.

 Cool. Step-by-step ... that did the trick. Two cargo bays with diamonds ... and the buying ship took the first one on the list. ;)

Cool, and I thought that there were Pirates out there ripping people of boarding their ships and stealing their cargo just like in the Old Elite Game!....LOL...;):P
I guess it might had something to do with the targeted ship having 3 Cargo Bays and so took what ever was in the third Cargo bay which also happened to have Diamonds in it!

Yes, Cool step by step Screenshots to explain the situation!....;)

I had a similar problem I never got around to mentioning.

If I collect 125 units of hydrogen, use the constructor to convert them to 100 units of fusion cells, then try to compile them into 4 batches or 25 instead of 5 of 20, I can't! Only some of them will condense into a 25 unit pack. And I thought about dumping them and picking them all up again, but I lose some. Usually end up with 3 25's and something like 17 or something.

My intent was to craft 4 c5 jumpdrives, to sell 4 $! but it seems it can't handle that many items.

It's not a big deal, I never said anything before because there are better ways to make money.
