HOTAS/joystick Calibration.

Post by Firedragon »

Hi,
Would it be possible to include an HOTAS/Joystick calibration programme at some time ?
I expect that there are quite a few others here who have Win 7 Home Premium, which does not contain one.

Which HOTAS are you trying to calibrate? Most manufacturers provide calibration and setting programs for their HOTAS devices, which lets you calibrate a device to work the same way in all of the games you play that support them. You may need to download/install a separate program for such options.

Within the game itself, you can adjust the deadzone (central response area) and sensitivity for game specific settings. The only requirement for the game is that the device properly functions and provides the full range of movement to the end of the axis range so you get a 100% value in either direction.

Hi Vice,
I have a Saitek X52 Pro HOTAS. Saitek do not for some reason provide a calibration programme within their software (I have emailed them about this already and am waiting for a response.)
I've adjusted as much as I can within game, just got an irritating bit of drifting I need to correct :)
I have looked for calibration info on Microsoft and other places without any success.

Ah ok, while a manual calibration program may not be available for them, there is a particular fix that can be used to reset them if they lose proper axis centering and/or ranging. Here is a link to the steps: http://www.saitek.com/uk/supp/x52fsx3.html#b

I use the same stick and I'm sure I calibrated at the start with their software (but it was a while ago though, so I might be mixing it up with the X45 which I upgraded from! :( )

If you're stuck I can try to hunt it out :)

HOTAS/joystick Calibration.

Post by GlenAlden »

Hi, I've just downloaded the demo, cause I'm looking for a new space sim. So far I've read a lot in this forum about evochron & it seems to be a very good game. I'll use my old saitex x52. Is there any player who would share his x52 profile with me, so I could just start with the demo instead config the stick ...

This would be very helpful, because, as I know out of the other games, till the best combination of the controlls is configured, you have to have a deep understanding which function is needed on the stick. There for, I would be very thankfull if one of your experienced player would share it -

txs Glen :)
