Hi.
I've had Evochron for a while now, but i was wondering is there a way that i can use my secondary monitor for displaying maps or stuff like that?

I only have a laptop, so I've never done it, but I know from others it can be done. Someone should be along in a little bit to explain how.

To a Moderator, if you would please move this to the Tech Support section. It may get more responses being in the correct area.
@King_Pancake, We have a GREAT community here, but posting the topic in the wrong forum section may be causing this to be ignored. If a Forum Moderator doesn't move it, send them a U2U asking them to. Remaking the post in the right category but leaving this one up might be frowned upon.
Just wanted to let you know.

I didn't think you could do it in the vanilla game. Thats why added it to the mod forum.

This forum works as it would likely require a mod. There are ways to 'zone' portions of a screen to render on another display, but I'm not too familiar with the programs used to do that kind of thing. There is also a 'savedata' option (detailed in the customizing kit), which lets you export in-game data to an external text file, which can then be used to display data in another window/program.
As far as restricting the game to one monitor or the other, you can use the 'swscreen.txt' file option. Here are details for that option:
When the game detects the swscree.txt file in the install folder, it does the following:
1 - Sets the resolution to the value specified in the Options menu.
2 - Activates the reduced window mode taking it from being stretched to fill the screen down to the size selected in the Options menu.
3 - Positions the window at the X and Y values specified in the swscreen.txt file on lines 3 and 4.
So an example swscreen.txt file might look like this:
0
0
512
0
And this would display the game in a window scaled to the size of the selected resolution and placed on the screen at 512 X and 0 Y.
So if one of your monitors was 1920X1080, you could apply 1920X1080 in the first line of the sw.cfg file (located in c:\\sw3dg\\EvochronMercenary), then create the swscreen.txt file in the install folder (where the game's EXE file is) and apply '0' values like this:
0
0
0
0
You can change line 1 to a value for antialiasing if you like and line 2 for the multi-monitor mode (which may or may not help with what you are trying to do, I'd recommend starting with 0 first).
