Best custom campaign?

I'm not finished with the IMG quests YET, but close. I know the legendary Pearl lies at the end...

But after that, what custom quests would you recommend? I have got (but not installed) the 'Quest for Peace' quest, but I've heard of some other good ones. Any recommendations?

Oh, and, what happens if the custom quest is removed later? Can I add a new quest, or will there be corruption?

It depends on your Pilot profile and the Maker of the custom Quest. Since Quests have to be done in a certain order and each number of completion is recorded in your profile!
So to start a new one the maker of the quest has to make a dicission to make one from scratch or build on the existing one starting with the new number in sequence where the previous one in your pillot profile ended!.....

The Quest for Peace overlaps the default quest ... appended to the end. Every IMG contract you do will advance your pilot profile one step in the quest listing. Ergo, you cannot backtrack to an earlier step using the same profile. What you can do is clone your pilot once he's completed the default quest. This might work as long as any other quest is (like the Quest for Peace) appended to the default.

At this time, I don't know of any other completed quest mods. So it's hard to say where they will begin (at what step ... be it step 1 or an overlap to the default). But, to keep one quest from borking previous quests, it's best to pull any and all other quests from the game's main folder and drag it some place safe.

Normally when creating a quest, the creator starts it after
the IMG.

I recommend that you save a backup when the IMG
is finished.

To fly another quedt, just make a copy of that file
for each new quest.

That way you always have a "clean" profile.

Think Vice can add an option to reset the quest position value? Even if it meant redoing the starter quests, that'd be a breeze for an experienced player.

That would be difficult to do because the Quest progress is stored in your Pilot Profiles, and I have at the moment 66 Profiles and that means Vice has to code the game in away so you can reset the quest progress in each individual profile!....

Are you saying its stored independently of the profiles? Or each has its own progress?

It shouldn't be hard: Just have an option when you select a profile to clear its missions. Wouldn't need, (or want) to reset ALL profiles.

'Course, I'm not Vice, I donno how he coded it, but it seems like it shouldn't be hard.

Next time to select a profile from the list, check the data window on the left side. Your progress in the quest is listed. Note how it changes for each profile.

In each of your flyable pilot profiles, you may pursue the IMG Quest independantly. Quest progress, how ever earned/won, will not transfer between them. I have several profiles in various stages of IMG Quest completion. One of them, I used to help another pilot conduct their Quest beta-testing with. The Quest for Peace add-on is a good one! A few surprises, but all do-able.

Another point: quest mods need to start some place ... the best locations are either at the beginning (overwriting the original) or at the end (appending the original). Anything in between would be confusing and would probably make a mess of when and where to stop doing the original quest.
