"Old Newbie" returning

Hello again to the Evochron universe!

EM caught my attention last year, and I've been loving it ever since, but RL has made it hard to devote much time to the game, and with the expansion that Vice was so diligently working on, I had decided to patiently wait for the new content.

Now that I've seen it, I'm blown away.

The new material is amazing, and I'm falling in love with this game all over again. I've gotten my hands on a good joystick and throttle, and have jumped in to explore the new revamped universe.

And it seems like I'll have to learn this game all over again! The advancements to the AI are astounding; before, I was able to smoke almost a dozen computer-controlled bandits without taking more than a scratch if I didn't get careless. Now I'm lucky to walk away from a fight with two, and I'm TERRIFIED to step into a warzone with the Vonari. Everything I thought I had figured out about combat has gone right out the window, and it's really stepped up the danger level. The planets look breathtakingly beautiful, and the new soundtrack is even better than the old one (which was also great, just a little repetitive). The terrain walkers are a nifty touch, and the enclosed stations, traffic comms, and docking instructions really add a lot to the feel of flying a spacecraft.

And I haven't even spent a lot of time exploring yet. I'm gonna have a lot of homework to do in order to get back into this game, but you can rest assured I'll be doing it as often as family, work, and life allow me to. I hope to be fleshing out my alter ego from an RP perspective and posting a bio sometime in the following weeks. I'll be browsing through the forums for any other like-minded players who enjoy immersion into a world as much as I do.

Anyway, just wanted to say a resounding GREAT JOB to Vice, and I'm looking forward to future updates to this awesome game!
