Save game ruined

Hi,

Hoping someone can help me out. I just saved my game mid fight and it was kinda lucky I did because I got shot down by a Leviathan.

However, not that lucky really - when I reload my game I get an annoucement "caution, entering gravity field" and my ship explodes. It seems I saved too close to a star and entering the game at that location with no momentum or energy there's nothing I can do to prevent the ship exploding.

Is there any way to change the location of my ship outside the game or or something or am I screwed?

Yeah, you must have saved right near the explosion point of the star. If you don't have other copies of your profile saved in other slots, the two main options you have are to try and jump as soon as you appear (if your direction might be away from the star, your first respawn after a fresh start will provide you with 100% energy, unlike successive respawns) or send me the profile attached to an e-mail and I can manually relocate you.

Ah, thanks. I tried a fresh restart but I'm pointed at the star and there's no time to turn and jump away before I explode. I did used to stagger my saves and keep several but I got mixed up with them and reverted to just using the one a while ago now. There's a lesson to learn there I'm sure...

All mended, brilliant, thank you so much. I promise that won't happen again and I'll keep spare saves from now on

edit: I've just bought the game again and gifted it to a friend as an extra thank you for this and a slightly belated one for the expansion.

Indeed, it worked for Starbuck today. (Btw, for those who might want to test this out, IM has a trade station down in star system V416 where, if you dock at the station orbiting the star and then save, you'll get the opportunity. Just accept a combat contract, get blown up ... and go from there.)
