I picked EM on the Steam holiday sale a couple days ago since I've been watching this game for almost a year now. I'm playing it now and I love it!
Since this seems to be a newbie question area I'd like to ask: Is this beginning IMG race mandatory? I've been trying again and again to carefully pull up and not run into the other ship; leading to the event of being pushed out of the rings.

Keep your speed close to 1000 and you should be fine doing the race with IDS on! Anything over speed of 1000 will make it easy to be pushed out or drift out of the path!
The IMG Quest is not Mandatory, but it is a good place to start to get to know the game! You can not progress to the next IMG mission before completing the previous one succesfully!.....

Welcome aboard, Buscuitism! If you start the IMG Quest, the race then becomes manditory that you pass it. Otherwise, you can't get to the next IMG Quest contract. Good luck and hope to see y'all out there some time!
