Can't build a station

Hi, I have a little problem to build a trading station.

I get the message: "trading station between two sectors, construction denied"

But what does that mean? However, I am well placed in the middle of an sector (I know the rule of X,Y,Z -50K from the center of a sector to build). And there is no other station in this sector except for a jumpgate far enough. That's where I try to place my station (near the jumpgate to Virgo): http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/201 ... -01-48.jpg

There must be something I missed. I'm a noob in station construction, this is the first I'm trying to build and I chose the system Rucker.

It does mean that there's a second station somewhere within two sectors. Have you had a look at the rear view on the nav map to see if perhaps there's a station on top or below you?

If the problem remains, please post a screenshot of your navmap again, but both in normal view and in rear view, and zoomed out. The one you posted now is zoomed in and only shows the sector you're in.

Yes, you need to have at least one empty sector (on all sides ... including up and down) between two trade stations.

If you look on your sector map, there is already a Station in the sector in the bottom right corner in the astroid field!

There has to be one empty sector on all sides, even diagonally!.....

But it is not all in the same sector as that where I am! I'm in the sector 1797, 0, -1999: http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/201 ... -56-77.jpg

Unless you meant SYSTEM. There can't be two trade stations in the same SYSTEM.

But then, why there are already systems with several trade stations? How they made them?
And if that's, so I can't put my station in any main system then?

When you zoom al the way in to your sector, you see a Station in the Astroid field in the lower right corner just one sector away from the location where you are trying to build the Station! One of the Rules for Station Building is there has to be at least one empty sector free of Stations on each side of you and below and above! And where you are trying to build there is a Station just one sector to your lower right corner!.....
