I basically am some sort of "refugee" coming from the X Universe looking for some new Challenges, so I came across the Evochron Universe
At first I was a little helpless (I still am somehow). The first time I entered the Singleplayer Mode I died 9 Times in 45 Minutes
So a few little question: Are there many "hostile" players out there on the Servers or is it "noob" friendly? I am sort of afraid to enter a Server being shot every minute or so
Aaand-->: Can you actually Land on Planets? All I saw was a City but then I forgot the Gravity Field and disabled my Engines
I also have another question related to some Ship-parts. I saw some players on youtube flying over 2000 without using the afterburner. I used all possible (?) combinations of Engines, Frames and Wings, but my Max Speed was 670.
Well, thanks in advance for some answers and see you all out there maybe?
Frank: \"Hey, do you see that?\"
Peter: \"No, what?\"
Frank: \"It\'s right there!\"
Peter: \"Nothing\'s there Frank....\"
Frank: \"Don\'t you see that bright light over there!?\"
Peter: \"....you do know that we\'re in a black hole, right?\"
Frank: \"How are we even communicating, then?\"
Peter: \"How am I supposed to know? I\'m just an Electron...\"
Frank: \"Oh....well, see ya!\"
Peter: \"....\"
There is an IDS multiplyer which can increase your maximum engine output to about five times its basic speed. 'Though you'll want to keep your speed below 1460kps when making planetfall. (And, yes, you can land on planets ... if you have a terrain walker, you can even walk, jump and fight enemy ships with it.) As for hostile players in MP, there are some but they're usually few and far between.
Hi Blackout, Welcome to the forum and the Sim. As Marv stated, the normal ship speed can be increased using the IDS multiplier. I am not sure what the default keys are to increase and decrease it are but you can look in your controls section to find out. Have fun and hope to see you in Multi-Player sometime.

Hey blackout. I am new here as well and also died probably 9 times in the first 45. I migrated from the Freelancer universe though.
I've been playing a week and haven't seen a hostile player yet. Everyone is friendly and helpful.
Pressing 7 or 9 on the numpad increase and decrease your inertial dampeners (IDS) and allows your ship to go faster but have less control. The tutorial talks about this in the ship control section.
Also, the most helpful tip I've received so far.... is that there is a picture of a keyboard in your Evochron install folder that shows what every keyboard key does by default.
Forget about IDS, and use inertial forward and reverse in inertial mode like a real pilot .
IDS is only good for 2 things: Atmosphere flight and breaks (IDS on 0).
SplosivesCorp: Bringing people closer to destruction.
Hey buddy, welcome to universe im pretty new here too, and dont worry bout hostiles, they are, as Marv said - not very common a good way too ''de-noob'' yourself is to join a clan like i did its really fun, and helps a load with gameplay and learning
Thanks for the help everyone!
I think I stick to the IDS thing for a while and after that I might get into the Intertial mode.
Btw: What/Who are those "Vonari"? I saw the Vonari Quadrant on the Map but it was somehow...well...."hidden".
Is it normal that they fly around Atlas and Cerulean? They seem to be some major bad-ass Uber-Kill Aliens
Anyway, they seem to be very strong...
Thanks again buddies!

Hey blackout. I have been playing on starport 6 server and spend my time hanging out near saphire station using my resources to help out the newcomers. If you come on starport 6, see if I'm on and I'll come to your aid if you need.
Vonari are the general bad guys of Evochron - read up on your history, and you'll find out all about them they ARE hard to kill when you are just starting, sure, but you'll get there
