Spoiler Alert
Hi. I play a mercenary, and here I am at the mission where I have to go into the Sierra system. And I have to go to the station Sierra.
But the problem is that I am considered as enemy there. Everyone attacking me! Even the station is in red and asks for money to let me in.
And fight, I find myself 20 against 1! No ally helps me in this area. When I managed to destroy an enemy ship, there are three others who arrived as reinforcements. It has become literally impossible.
So of course, I decided to abandon the mission and improve my ship before continuing. But this is extremely long! A good ship costs about $ 5 million (excluding Walker costing $ 7 million), and the highest paying small contracts that I found in the stations are in the $ 140,000 maximum (the contracts that I can do of course. There are still more lucrative contracts, but I'm humped in less than 2 seconds). You remove fuel costs and repair, I have $ 100,000. And these contracts take me more than 30 minutes to complete (when I'm not killing).
So if we calculate quickly for $ 5 million I do more than 50 of these contracts! At about 30 minutes per contract, so I have to spend 25 hours to repeat the same damn contract just to buy me a spaceship proper order may continue the main quest.
Well, I'm not the type to cry against long and good games. But here you do not think there's a bit of exaggeration? Y would be no way to make the most lucrative contracts?
Thank you.

I have to admit, the title was a little misleading.
I believe I did nothing but mining for a good 2 weeks when I first started. If you enhance your crew, that would build up your money really fast. The right trade routes are even faster though.

Sorry, but I'm not there yet. I am only level 45. And I do not know yet mining or do trading. I just know how the fight.
5 vessels against one I can manage, but at 20 against one with enemy ships which arrived as reinforcements to infinity, then I can not.

I think it's easier to start out as a civi. That is just my opinion though, and I'm sure plenty of people went your route. You could always backup your save, buy yourself a civi ship, and do some mining until you have some money. Just park yourself next to a rock and scratch your butt for awhile type of easy.

Wait, 5 million?
Ok back up a second. What are we talking about when you're saying "good ship"?
I don't know if you need THAT good of a ship to do the IMG quest (which I assume is what you are doing).
I definitely do not remember having to 25 hours to complete the IMG quest, not even close. I don't remember needing to mine much either, heck I don't think I even got into mining at all until after I finished the quest.
Unless things have changed pretty drastically since I last did the quest, I think something isn't quite right.

I'm not sure, but I think this ship should do the trick to make the mission I want to do in the Sierra system.

I have to admit, the title was a little misleading.
Before the expansion, it was quite possible to deal with 20 enemies with reinforcements at once since the ai was acting the same. Sure with the expansion and the new ai, maybe combat is more difficult than it was before. But as said Lazarus mining is the best way earning good money very fast. Atlas is a high economy peaceful system when you can get rich rapidly.
While the img quest isn't mandatory, notice that you still can get assist from other players in multiplayer.

That's quite a big jump up in frame size, much bigger than I would be comfortable with.From post: 151322, Topic: tid=10120, author=MrDionne wrote:I talking about that: http://www.noelshack.com/2012-50-135525 ... -14-93.pngFrom post: 151301, Topic: tid=10120, author=Professor Paul1290 wrote:Wait, 5 million?

You probably could get that fairly quickly if you did some fairly good trade routes and mining, but that would be a bit much for me personally so I guess I'll suggest an alternative.
Unless you're planning on keeping a second ship, you trade in your old frame whenever you buy a new frame and what you get back from trading in your old frame is subtracted from the cost of the new frame.
This means that what you pay is mostly the difference between the frame you are buying and your current frame with maybe a bit more.
What this means is that you don't lose that much from buying a cheaper frame now and putting off getting the more expensive one later.
Getting a cheaper frame in the short term so you can load more of the gear you want right away may make it easier to get the money needed for the more expensive frame later on.
I think I went through at least two other frames before I purchased the one you are looking at.

Also bear in mind that you don't have to do the IMG quest as fast as possible. I actually completed it after I had a high end military ship with the best equipment including a stealth generator and all.

You do not need to fight them just to go to the station. If you are angled right you should fly right into the station in time to enter it unharmed. Practice you approach in safe areas until you can come jump almost right into the station.

OMG! You see me learn a lot of things here!
1, I did not know we could hire pilots AI.
and 2, I did not know you could have several vessels at once.
And what is mining and trading, I do not know where I should start or what ship to buy.
For now, I just know make fights and accept contracts that are very low paying.
I spent maybe 25 hours total on Evochron Mercenary. I play about 1 hour a night every 2 or 3 days when I come home from work and if I'm not too tired. Besides the fact that I am no English. So it takes even longer to learn for me. Even here on the forum, I must go through google trad to talk to you and understand what you are saying.

To mine you go close to an asteroid or planet surface and turn on your tractor beam (B) which will mine ore into your empty cargo bays so you can sell it later at a station or city.
To trade you buy or find items and you try to find a place that will pay you more for them than you bought them for.
It can be min depth but thats what they are about.

In case my earlier explanation was worded oddly, you should buy whatever frame you can reasonably afford. From post: 151340, Topic: tid=10120, author=MrDionne wrote:oh my! You see me learn a lot of things here!

When you buy a new frame it works like this:
Frame you are purchasing - Frame you own = What you pay
There can be a little bit extra on top of that you might have to pay, but it's usually small compared to the cost of the ships.
This means that instead of upgrading this way:
Arrow ----------------------------------------> Legacy
You can upgrade this way:
Arrow -----> Mirage ------> Sentinel ----> Legacy
It might be better to buy the cheaper frame now and delay buying the more expensive frame until later because it will give you something better to use in between.
